Ramires Posted March 8, 2020 Posted March 8, 2020 Hi Gents, I experience strange stutters in VR. When I start DCS and jump into the first aircraft everything is going on well. If I change the aircraft, sitting in another cockpit I got massive stutters. Even if I jump back to the former one stutters are still there. Does anybody has a solution or has faced the same issues? When I restart the game everything works well again….
Tailhook Posted March 11, 2020 Posted March 11, 2020 Just curious, are you running Malwarebytes? Intel i9-13900K : ASUS TUF RTX 4080 : 32GB G.Skill RipjawsV 4000 : TM HOTAS Warthog : HP Reverb G2
Ramires Posted March 11, 2020 Author Posted March 11, 2020 I found a solution: I deleted all FXO and metahaders and decreased the solution to 1.3. Seems to work...

Mr. Big.Biggs Posted March 14, 2020 Posted March 14, 2020 I have found (In stable) that If I fly a mission (always in caucuses and the F14 btw) that if I fly a longer mission, ie not something like a quick bout in the dogfight server but one of the pvp or pve servers running large missions that after my first sortie things start to go south. Second, sometimes third time out but things like rearming problems, weapons not working then it goes massive stutter. The only thing that clears it is exiting all the way out of DCS and closing Steam VR app to get it stable. Then start over. Im assuming its memory, files or something that needs to “clear out” but way beyond my skillset. Fwiw. Regards I9 (5Ghz turbo)2080ti 64Gb 3200 ram. 3 drives. A sata 2tb storage and 2 M.2 drives. 1 is 1tb, 1 is 500gb. Valve Index, Virpil t50 cm2 stick, t50 base and v3 throttle w mini stick. MFG crosswind pedals.

Pikey Posted March 14, 2020 Posted March 14, 2020 I get something similar. got a lovely 45+ frames in a reverb on a 2080S on first run, then swapped aircraft and the frames went to 22. On my previous card this would have been 4-8FPS and killed it, but it can usually be solved by restarting DCS. Since I never monitor my hardware in VR I am usually clueless as to the cause. Trying the above link Mustang, you are always so good for these little tweaks buddy! thanks. ___________________________________________________________________________ SIMPLE SCENERY SAVING * SIMPLE GROUP SAVING * SIMPLE STATIC SAVING *
Mr. Big.Biggs Posted March 14, 2020 Posted March 14, 2020 Would like to give it a go but before I get in over my head, is this a plug and play setup or requires lots of ability to navigate the OS? Thanks The standby memory program? It's very simple to use just extract to any folder and just run it, just stick to the defaults and let it do it's thing in the background, you can halt it at any time and can be launched at any time too.
Vanguard Posted March 14, 2020 Posted March 14, 2020 Slightly off topic, but can I ask a potentially ignorant/stupid question here? I'm just wondering, is the DCS engine treating VR in any special manner (other than just driving two offset viewports)? I don't own VR, and from a programming point of view (with the exception of driving two virwports and the extra code for tracking input) I fail to understand why it would. Reason I ask is, I can understand that the VR community is more susceptible to performance issues given the resolutions your trying to drive, and things like micro stutters might be more noticable to you with the immersion level etc, but in almost every performance thread I've read where the OP calls out VR, the entire community, VR or not is impacted and the fixes, solutions can apply to all.
