Slow game loading ...

Just downloaded DCS world 2.5 ... Loading is very slow on my fast computer compared to IL2.

I guess the only needed spec is DCS 2.5.6. I haven't seen a single person with much increased loading times yet over 2.5.5.

It...feels longer. One of the things I noticed, but didn't get into a twist over.

 

 

 

I have found a couple things that will flat out break it and it hangs on the load screen forever, but they're both self-induced. Sometimes undoing whatever stupid thing I did fixes it, sometimes I need to reboot. Maybe that's my imagination, too.

 

 

The 'slower' load could easily be my imagination as well. I should go back to 2.5.5 on my old machine and whip out a stop watch.

I think the longer loading at boot time may be due to component changes, authentication and protection, loading it takes the new audio data structure and perhaps file verification against changes/cheats, but I didn't look deeper into it yet.
