Good morning all.

Sorry for this being a dumb question, but I wondered if there were any plans for another F14 trial?

I have an ageing system (positively geriatric) and was curious as to how F14 may run. I'm aware I'll have to make compromises, but I'd love to pick it up on this excellent Stay At Home sale.

Finally, I can run DCS!!!

Not sure about the trial, but the F-14 is worth every penny. Go for it. It's one of the modules in DCS that feel the most "alive", the attention to detail is second to none. If you ever had any affection towards the F-14, you will not regret buying the HB module.

In terms of performance, it's not bad, I can run it on a laptop - ofcoruse not with max settings, and not in VR :)

Damn, damn, damn. Also missed the AV8-B one, which was my backup.

Thank you. I've had a love affair with the F14 since the days of Top Gun and Microprose's F14 Fleet Defender.

I'd be looking to run it in 1080p.

You can go high on most options. CPU will be your limiter most of the time and RAM depending on the mission or if MP.

I had a system with less specs than that. I5 3570K with 24gb DDR3 ram 7970 card and it ran absolutely fine (Both F14 and AV8B) Yes you will have to tone some of the heavys down (MSAA for example). Really heavy servers may be a little rough but for the most part you'll be fine n dandy. Both the F-14 and AV8B are well worth it at the current price.

My system is based around a core 2 duo E8400 at 3gHz. 8gb ram with an RX580 8gb gpu. Win 10.

It's fine with the F14 on Caucasus and Nevada. Not tried it on MP or heavy SP missions but the Tomcat is such a well made module even basic stuff like circuits and nav is very satisfying.

One day I'll buy a new motherboard etc but this one runs pretty much everything I want.
