Hi,

I have a problem because (i think is a long time...1 year) i cant run model viewer 2! When i click on the file exe, first there is a empty window of mw, but after few second it disappear and nothing appens……i try to repair a lot of time, nothing! Any help?

Delete the edModelViewer2 folder in saved games.

I haven't used the Model Viewer 2 for a few months, now I wanted to continue working on my skins. But the MV quits without error message as soon as I want to open an EDM file, does anyone have the same problem and is there a solution?

I have completely reinstalled the beta client but it did not help.

Sorry for hijacking this threat, but i have a Problem with the MV 2.

It starts when I open it as Admin.

But somehow I´m not able to open textures.

I have set my textures path (more times) but won´t work. anyone got a solution?

Or is somewhere explained how to set the path right? :confused:

my MV2 closes when I try to load a model... Any idea why this happens?

Try deleting the edModelViewer folders in saved games.

ok, it worked to load the 3d model, but the textures did not come out ... I remember that I had to modify the path in which I was looking for the textures but I don't remember which file ... could you tell me what it is?

...ok i found it, the file path is this:


DCS World \ Config \ ModelViewer \ autoexec.lua

and insert the two lines marked in red. You must adjust the path so that it fits your environment.

And now we start again....

 

The above two lines pasted above worked perfectly for all mods that I could tell. 

 

Now after the great 2.7 update of 2021 we're seemingly back to:

mount_vfs_liveries_path     ("C:/Users/USERNAME/Saved Games/DCS/Liveries")
mount_vfs_models_path     ("C:/Users/USERNAME/Saved Games/DCS/Mods")

 

But this doesn't work anywhere near as well and seems a step backwards to the dark days of MV1.

e.g. loading the A-4 mod, after the model has been loaded at least once, choosing File > Recent Files loads the A-4 in the lovely missingtexture digital green camo.

you then need to go to mount textures > mount folder and locate the A-4 textures folder

then you need to reload models to get the skin to show with any roughmets etc.

AND, it still leaves missing textures such as the canopy glass & position lights etc

this of course has to be done every time MV2 is restarted

 

With mods such as @Bungo great HMAS Melbourne mod, I can't get a single texture to load.

 

Is it really that hard to fix and keep fixed or is just that they don't care.

 

Any way 1st world problems, I'll put the lid back on my jar of Tourettes & have a beer now.

It's brought back all liveries and textures and it doesn't need to be redone everytime.

I am unable to open model viewer similar to you guys. I am wondering if its a path issue.

Any ideas on how to fix this? I try to delete the ed modelviwer in the saved games folder, but it populates again right when I open the model viewer
