Hankentanken Posted April 11, 2020 Posted April 11, 2020 Hi. This appears strange to me, though i am new to DCS. When playing (f15 campaign, but also other modes such as mp or editing) at random intervals the plane looses power, engines and sometimes the canopy opens. It can happen when im not touching the hotas, so not me pressing the wrong buttons. Any ideas? I changed my hotas, and also reinstalled the PC, about two weeks ago, didnt experience it before. Use a x56 v2 now.
sirrah Posted April 11, 2020 Posted April 11, 2020 Are you sure you don't have axis bound to another device? (Like to a steering wheel for instance). That could explain the sudden throttle input. Still doesn't explain the canopy opening as I assume there's no axis bind for that in the F-15 (I wouldn't know as I pretty much never fly the F-15) System specs: i7-8700K @stock speed - GTX 1080TI @ stock speed - AsRock Extreme4 Z370 - 32GB DDR4 @3GHz- 500GB SSD - 2TB nvme - 650W PSU HP Reverb G1 v2 - Saitek Pro pedals - TM Warthog HOTAS - TM F/A-18 Grip - TM Cougar HOTAS (NN-Dan mod) & (throttle standalone mod) - VIRPIL VPC Rotor TCS Plus with ALPHA-L grip - Pointctrl & aux banks <-- must have for VR users!! - Andre's SimShaker Jetpad - Fully adjustable DIY playseat - VA+VAICOM - Realsimulator FSSB-R3 ~ That nuke might not have been the best of ideas, Sir... the enemy is furious ~ GUMMBAH
Kang Posted April 11, 2020 Posted April 11, 2020 In the same vein it could be some controller conflict.

But to clarify, its not a grafuall loss of pwr, its like an key on/off thing. From flying around to 'engine shutdown, displays go from green to off and canopy opening instantly.
Hankentanken Posted April 11, 2020 Author Posted April 11, 2020 In the same vein it could be some controller conflict. Not quite sure what you lean, that there is something wrong with my hotas?
Kang Posted April 11, 2020 Posted April 11, 2020 Sorry. I meant, perhaps several controls are bound to the same keys.
Hankentanken Posted April 11, 2020 Author Posted April 11, 2020 Sorry. I meant, perhaps several controls are bound to the same keys. Could be, but in this instanse then it would have to be three diffrent things bound to the same key, however it can happen without me touching anything. IE flying to a waypoint, looking at my phone suddenly it happens.
Svend_Dellepude Posted April 11, 2020 Posted April 11, 2020 Interference from your phone through your keyboard or mouse cable. I had this happen to me a couple of times, though not from a phone but a walkie talkie. If i had the radio too close to my usb keyboard it would stop qlab if someone was on the radio. this happened during show a couple of times before i found out what went on. annoying! :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Win10 64, Asus Maximus VIII Formula, i5 6600K, Geforce 980 GTX Ti, 32 GB Ram, Samsung EVO SSD.
draconus Posted April 11, 2020 Posted April 11, 2020 What does debriefing say? Win10 i7-10700KF 32GB RTX4070S Quest 3 T16000M VPC CDT-VMAX TFRP FC3 F-14A/B F-15E CA SC NTTR PG Syria
Hankentanken Posted May 3, 2020 Author Posted May 3, 2020 A bit of late response here, but debrief says nothing. Happend in multiplayer yesterday in a fight, sucks much more then in singleplsyer :(
draconus Posted May 3, 2020 Posted May 3, 2020 I asked because debriefing should tell being hit or engine shutdown. Were you in prolonged negative G? Save track or video next time. Cockpit shot at least. Check external view for possible damage. Oh, at very low alt bird hit is a thing. Hankentanken Posted May 14, 2020 Author Posted May 14, 2020 I found the solution, the x56 requires more power from the usb than my usb hub could deliver. Plugged it into my pc directly and that solved it. Common problem on google when i focused my search on the hotas and not dcs :)
