F-5E re-WORK

I re-worked the roughmet and normal bump of f5. I was able to play f5 during the free period so I could work.

 

Since f5 is an old module, roughmet and normal have been re-worked to the current f16 level. I am now balancing roughmet reflections and normal rivets.

 

Unfortunately, the skin will be temporary stop when the free period ends. but skin is expected to focus intensively until the end of the free month. So I have a hard focusing F5 work , release very soon

 

There are some issues

 

1. stencil cannot be improved. Unlike the f16's 4k dds, the F5 is 2K. I copied to paste the high-resolution stencil, but if I reduce it to the same size, the pixels are broken.

There are template for spec / rough met , They seem to have updated.

 

However, it is basically a green color. This color reflects nothing. You need to change the channel to purple

 

Adjust the level of Photoshop to white/black for shade it and the roughmet will change

This skin will be 4k. I experimented with help from discord. stencil font converted to 4k is very readable. It will be the first 4k skin for f5.

 

I am checking the maintance what font used for F5. Still couldn't find it. If only found fonts are checked, all stencil fonts will be re-worked.

What you are describing is the Spec texture.

 

Spec textures where used in DCS prior to the PBR lightning introduced with DCS 2.5 and unfortunately some of the older models (such is the F-5e) still use them.

 

Hopefuly the F-5e will get roughmet textures (officially since there seems to be a mod that does something similar) and take advantage of the new PBR lightning.

Any chance you can also release the PSD files so we can adjust them to our own liking? I'm going to apply a lot of this to my own skins for the F-5. Great work!
