=Pedro= Posted May 9, 2020 Posted May 9, 2020 Hi, usually to center the view in DCS I press "5" from the numeric. I am trying to reduce keybord workload therefore it would be a lot easier to center the view using one of the Warthog Throttle button/switch. In Controls Adjusments menu I bind the warthog button, next to "5" key command but it does not work at all. No matter what button I choose it just wont work. Any idea ? GhastlyTT Posted May 9, 2020 Posted May 9, 2020 VR recenter is in the UI layer options and is not the same as the "5" option you're using.
=Pedro= Posted May 9, 2020 Author Posted May 9, 2020 Thank you. I'll give it a try and will come back to you soon. Gigabyte Z390 Gaming X | i7 9700K@5.0GHz | Asus TUF OC RTX 4090 | 32GB DDR4@3200MHz | HP Reverb G2 | TrackIR 5 | TM Warthog HOTAS | MFG Croswinds
dburne Posted May 9, 2020 Posted May 9, 2020 I have never understood why folks don't use the option to assign VR-Recenter view to a button on their stick or throttle. Trying to hit a specific key on the keyboard with headset on is not that easy a thing to do. I suspect a lot has to do with where ED put this feature, way down in the UI Layer. It makes sense though as it is not aircraft module specific but a global setting. bilbosmeggins Posted May 9, 2020 Posted May 9, 2020 Being an Oculus user, I just have Oculus Home open in the background and holding the button on the Touch controller allows for resetting the view. It does break the immersion temporarily, but it’s not the end of the world for me.
=Pedro= Posted May 9, 2020 Author Posted May 9, 2020 It works as a charm, Thx. Gigabyte Z390 Gaming X | i7 9700K@5.0GHz | Asus TUF OC RTX 4090 | 32GB DDR4@3200MHz | HP Reverb G2 | TrackIR 5 | TM Warthog HOTAS | MFG Croswinds

I second this, first thing i do when i make a profile. I use both 2D (with TrackIR) and VR and both use the same key-combo for re-centering so i only need one button (set up in an extra layer so it doesn't get mixed with the most important plane controls). Piece of cake and no need to have Oculus Home open and use a touch controler. Win11 Pro 64-bit, Ryzen 5800X3D, Corsair H115i, Gigabyte X570S UD, EVGA 3080Ti XC3 Ultra 12GB, 64 GB DDR4 G.Skill 3600. Personally, I have the Touch controller at hand anyway, as there are usually a few things that I haven’t assigned to the Hotas, that I can just click with Touch. I need to implement Voice Attack properly to overcome this, but just haven’t got around to it yet.
cptmrcalm Posted May 12, 2020 Posted May 12, 2020 Voice Attack. I use it to re-centre and for most radio commands. Such as request start up, taxi, take off, inbound, etc etc. Go for it Bilbosmeggins. You'll wonder why you left it so long. :) https://www.youtube.com/@cptmrcalm | https://www.instagram.com/cptmrcalm/ | https://twitter.com/cptmrcalm | https://www.tiktok.com/@cptmrcalm

You'll wonder why you left it so long. :) Oh, I know how good it is, as I implemented it quite heavily in Elite Dangerous, back in the day. Trouble is, because I’ve been away from simming, and gaming for the best part of two years, everything seems like a foreign language to me again. I have Voice Attack installed, but am almost scared of clicking the box  I’ve barely got my Hotas performing how I’d like it, and getting the toe brakes properly mapped on my Crossfire pedals is proving quite the challenge too. Axis moves fine in the menus, but sod all happens in-game. I will most definitely get Voice Attack integrated again. Just slowly coming up to speed :)
Svsmokey Posted May 12, 2020 Posted May 12, 2020 I and others have found that the toe-brake axis generally needs to be iinverted . 9700k @ stock , Aorus Pro Z390 wifi , 32gb 3200 mhz CL16 , 1tb EVO 970 , MSI RX 6800XT Gaming X TRIO , Seasonic Prime 850w Gold , Coolermaster H500m , Noctua NH-D15S , CH Pro throttle and T50CM2/WarBrD base on Foxxmounts , CH pedals , Reverb G2v2
