T-50CM2 Slider Axis with Detente - What do you use it for?

Sorry, not sure what you mean. If you don’t want the spyglass view, then don’t bind anything to it.

I bound zoom view as an axis to the slider on my throttle. (Under Axis only commands, last one in the list.) 

In practice, moving the slider forward is regular zoom but moving it backwards results in spyglass view.

We’re talking about VR here. There is no axis bind, hence the discussion on spyglass and normal, the only options available in VR as 2 button binds. 
Yes, of course, for monitor DCS the axis would be bound to zoom.

So is it possible to change how the zoom axis is working for me? I'd prefer it all look like it does when moving the slider forward.

Well, I mean you could mess around with the user curves. Maybe start at 50% rather than 0% as a slider, but really, why don't you just not pull back from the detent if that's your issue.

I've messed with the curve and found no joy, which is why I came here.

The detent is definitely to early to not go past it, which, is also why I came here to find a solution.

If you notice in the video I linked the detent is pretty close to your normal cockpit view and once you hit the detent, it's like looking through a spyglass. Can the detent be removed in the software?

Trouble is, that it's impossible to know what you are doing in that video.  Post a screenshot of your axis tune setting in DCS, and also from VPC software.

I suspect this could be a calibration error.

Thanks. Yes, your calibration of that axis is bad.  If you look at the CAL LOW value, that is the mid point, and your RAW value is very close to the CAL END one. It should be (approx) mid-way between BEG and END.

Recalibrate in VPC software and you should now be OK.

Should I remove the "center" in order to remove the detent and resulting spyglass effect in addition to recalibrating?

No, keep the detent. It’s not spyglass you’re seeing, that’s a vr thing.

I use the slider for the three way mode override that many aircraft have (e.g. the dogfight/missile override on the viper, etc)

For the Tomcat I’ll be using it for the emergency flaps which works great. Hoping my CM3 throttle comes in soon.

I also use the left slider for the emergency wing sweep handle and it works like a charm. I mainly operate the wings manually. Loving this throttle for sure and now can see why it’s the top dog throttle. Fantastic product and the build is superb I mine excellent !

 Congrats and enjoy!! I still feel the same about mine and I got it in Jan 2021. Using it practically daily.
