Bob Morton Posted May 13, 2020 Posted May 13, 2020 Hi - when I select a waypoint I usually see a bar on the HUD showing me the direction I need to fly to get to the waypoint. when I select the TACAN I don’t see the Bar on the HUD and I have to look at the HSI to see where to fly even though I select TACAN and also have the HSI as sensor of interest. How can I get the TACAN bar to be displayed on the HUD? Thank you. F-14B - F-18C - F-16C - Mirage 2000 i7-6700k 4Ghz; EVGA 2080ti; 32GB DDR4; warthog HOTAS; Logitech pro flight pedals; oculus Rift S
ex81 Posted May 13, 2020 Posted May 13, 2020 First of all you have to click the TACAN Button on the HSI page. Upper left corner. Then I normaly switch off Waypoints because I simply don`t need it. I now get my information from selected TACAN. That`s just a thougt. What goes up, must come down ! Harker Posted May 13, 2020 Posted May 13, 2020 If you have done the following: 1. On the UFC, turned TACAN on, dialed the correct channel and pressed Enter and have T/R mode selected. 2. On the HSI, selected the TCN option. You should see a heading indicator on the HUD compass, same as for a waypoint. Keep in mind that if you've set a course after you've selected TCN, you lose the heading indicator, but get the alignment arrow and dots. The vCVW-17 is looking for Hornet and Tomcat pilots and RIOs. Bob Morton Posted May 14, 2020 Author Posted May 14, 2020 Thanks guy - I did all of the above. I found out what the issue was. As soon as I put a BRC (heading line in the HSI) the TaCAN heading bar in the HUD disappears. Is there a way of stopping this??
