Hi all, now we have finally gotten to the point in Hotas addons that we now have multiple options for handles depending on what aircraft we are flying, I’m just wondering how people are storing any handles that they are not currently using.

For example, I currently have the A10, F18 and Virpil F14 handles, that cover the vast majority of the aircraft I fly, and when not in use each handle has its own cover it sits in, but then just lays on the desk. I can’t help think there has to be a better solution like a stand of some sort that you can just screw them onto to keep them safe and on display while not taking up lots of room.

I was just wondering what solutions if any, others have come up with in our community. I am guessing I’m not the only swimmer who now how additional handles just laying around everywhere.

Good question

My spare grips are stored in a 9L Really Useful Box with bubble-wrap between them and this then goes on a shelf when I remember (which means it is on the floor for most of the time:D)

I'm sticking with a single grip, though I have two. I'm too concerned about damaging the pin connections by regular changes. Going to keep the old one as either a spare, or for my son if he gets interested.

Hello,

I use 3D printed bases.

Got the idea on debolestis shapeway page and when I bought I designed and printed some.

I store them on a shelf or the office desk.

Cheers,

I bought these on Amazon, and put a small label on the drawstrings indicating which grip is inside.

Velvet bags

I have the following grips, and these bags fit them all:

TM Warthog

TM Hornet

RS F16SGRH CE

VPC T-50CM2

VPC VFX

VPC WarBRD

I thought about the display stands, but decided it was too expensive for what you get, plus I wouldn't be able to reach them while sitting in the cockpit. I have a small tote on the floor next to the cockpit that my grips go in, along with my PointCTRL gear and kneeboard.

If you don’t have a 3D printer you can buy European garden hose ends as they are the same size as the TM connector. Amazon has them. I think the brand name is Gardinia. I use them for my DIY extensions.

Just drill holes in a nice hardwood board and epoxy the fittings into the holes. A little stain and viola, a work of art.

I printed a 3d thing which matches the thread from the TM joys. I own two, Warthog and Hornet, so the one not being in used is attached there, over my desk, lt looks great.

That's actually a pretty good idea. The brand name is Gardena btw ;)

To the OP, the Virpil dust cover for sticks are also good to store grips inside.
