Sublimearrepentido Posted May 27, 2020 Author Posted May 27, 2020 This is straight From the BIBLE for F-14B/D I am not sure About the operational limits of the catapults on any carrier but what is written below for the Tomcat is taken as the gospel. 4. Prohibited Maneuvers. The following additional maneuvers are prohibited: 1. Intentional spins. 2. During afterburner operations: a. Sustained 0 to – 0.5g flight. b. Flight from – 0.5g to – 2.4g’s for more than 10 seconds. 3. At MIL power or less, zero or negative-g flight for more than 20 seconds. 4. AIM-9 launch with landing flaps and slats extended. 5. Fuel dumping with AB operating or with speedbrakes extended. 6. Dual-engine afterburner takeoffs, waveoffs, bolters or catapult launches. 7. Single-engine maximum afterburner takeoffs, waveoffs, bolters, or catapult launches. 8. Rolling maneuvers with blank angle changes in excess of 360!. 7. Afterburner Takeoff. Afterburner takeoffs are limited to single-engine minimum afterburner takeoffs, waveoffs, bolters, or catapult launches. Dual engine afterburner and single-engine maximum afterburner takeoffs, waveoffs, bolters, or catapult launches are prohibited. 11 Takeoff Configuration. Afterburner takeoffs are prohibited specifically because of controllability concerns in the event of engine failure during takeoff. An engine failure during a MIL power takeoff with the F110 engine will produce significant thrust asymmetry. Cool thanks BUT Source???
Sublimearrepentido Posted May 27, 2020 Author Posted May 27, 2020 Because otherwise you leave me trawling the entire natops
av8orDave Posted May 27, 2020 Posted May 27, 2020 Dude, tell him to show you a pic of an F-14B launching from the catapult in afterburner. He won’t be able to. He’s going to give you a bunch of A models, which are easily distinguished from the B. If you need help deciphering the A from the B, post the pics here and I’m sure you’ll get some help.
Wizard_03 Posted May 27, 2020 Posted May 27, 2020 Yep very easy to tell from pictures if we're looking at TF-30s or GEs let's see some of these pictures. I've never seen one with GEs at AB on launch. DCS F/A-18C :sorcerer:
Wingmate Posted May 27, 2020 Posted May 27, 2020 Cool thanks BUT Source??? It is out of the F-14B/D Natops, if you have it search for "4.5.5 Prohibited Maneuvers" and "7.4.7.1 Normal Takeoff" that should get you to the two sections he quoted.
Rex Posted May 27, 2020 Posted May 27, 2020 Our A Cats on the America used burner for launch. The best thing on the deck at night was the Tomcat launching. Soft whistle of the intakes as she made her way to cats in the soft glow of Island lights and the sea of red tipped flashlights. The night was broken and the deck began to rumble as the mighty Tomcat began to roar. Her lights popped on and in an instant she was gone........ Hey man, I enjoyed reading it. I guess I could just ignore people. Then someone like you would come and say why are you asking the same question" Youre right no one owes me anything. PLEASE show me where I demand anything? Oh I dont? Hmm no ones MAKING YOU read the post or call me rude. Why dont you see yourself out please. Considering this is a FORUM and I purchased my copy of f14 I have just as much right to be here. And no - rude would be telling you what I really think of someone calling me rude for asking for citations from the start and pointing it out with thanks and calling the people sir when doing so when my query or that part is ignored. Id call rude coming in and saying I think "people owe me something" Seriously you know what to do with it

Snappy Posted May 27, 2020 Posted May 27, 2020 Man, stop digging that hole or ask a good friend to take that shovel away from you:) , Snappy
Sublimearrepentido Posted May 27, 2020 Author Posted May 27, 2020 Man, stop digging that hole or ask a good friend to take that shovel away from you:) , Snappy Lol hey I just respond in kind. Seriously anyone who didnt cite was still referred to as "sir" and was thanked etc. Exactly how is that rude? How am I demanding anything? I contend showing up and calling someone rude, then going on to basically act polite but tell them off for *gasp* responding to people that "yes thank you but my op stated i need references." Or that i need a page or some reference from the natops (after all it was quoted) since theres several different natops and theyre hundreds of pages long. And everything was said with please or thank you. So why am I digging a hole? How was I rude? Bc I said "thx but I need citations"? Again I say its rude to come and put words in someones mouth (demand?) And call them rude, and tell them what they can post. I purchased the module and this is a message forum. Indeed the entire thread was productive and getting replies - and the person I replied to was the first person (and only besides me) to say anything personal about anyone here. I consider *that* rude. And as I said, Ill respond in kind.
wiz_of_wuz Posted May 27, 2020 Posted May 27, 2020 (edited) Sublime I am doing everything I can for you without getting my ass kicked to the curb. Go to google and search F14B/D NATOPS (Naval Air Training and Operating Procedures Standardization Manual) and start reading. There is only one BIBLE for Naval Aircraft and Naval Aviation has one for every single aircraft. Good luck! Sections 4 and 11 are takoff restrictions and trust me it wont take you long to find it. av8orDave Posted May 27, 2020 Posted May 27, 2020 Back on topic, where are these pics of F-14Bs or Ds launching in afterburner? I can honestly say I’ve never seen one, can’t wait to see his proof.
