Bob Morton Posted July 12, 2020 Posted July 12, 2020 Hi - when i set your for a LGB run I turn on my tpod and I set the laser to arm. Then on the FLIR DDI I set the trigger button. At this point I am ready to drop. When I drop the bomb I keep pressing down on the trigger to laser the target and the target gets destroyed. All good. My question: is there a way to lase a target without having to continuously press down on the trigger? Thanks. FoxTwo Posted July 12, 2020 Posted July 12, 2020 Don't select trigger. The tpod will auto lase with the laser armed.

Tholozor Posted July 12, 2020 Posted July 12, 2020 You can't buddy lase with auto. REAPER 51 | Tholozor VFA-136 (c.2007): https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3305981/ Arleigh Burke Destroyer Pack (2020): https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3313752/
Harker Posted July 12, 2020 Posted July 12, 2020 If you don't select TRIG, the laser will automatically fire (based on the TTI) for terminal guidance, for a certain amount of seconds before impact and will stay on for a few seconds after impact as well, in case the TTI calculation was a little off. As for using manual mode, you might want to lase for a longer or shorter time, depending on profile you're going for, buddy lase, as Tholozor says or use the IR marker function to designate a target or area, for units equipped with NVGs. Bob Morton Posted July 13, 2020 Author Posted July 13, 2020 Got it! Thank you! With Marvick laser missiles, how do I get the uncaged seeker to see the laser without pressing the trigger? and once I have pressed the trigger can I let go? With Marvick laser missiles, how do I get the uncaged seeker to see the laser without pressing the trigger? and once I have pressed the trigger can I let go? Thank you If you want to manually lase for the LMAV, you need to press and hold the trigger and once the seeker locks onto the laser, press the pickle (weapons release) button. And you need to keep the trigger pressed until impact. Quite cumbersome. If you want to use auto-lase with the LMAV, you need to first uncage the missile and then press and hold the pickle button. Upon pressing the pickle button, the laser will fire. Keep holding it down. As soon as the seeker picks up the laser, if the button is still pressed, the missile will fire. At this point, you can stop pressing the pickle button. The laser will keep firing for a set number of seconds (I forget how many) to ensure missile guidance, so it'll likely keep firing for a few seconds after impact. If you launch from within valid missile range, it should always be enough. So, for auto, arm the laser, uncage the seeker and press and hold the pickle button until the missile launches. Done. Mr_Burns Posted July 15, 2020 Posted July 15, 2020 I set my pinky on the hotas which is a toggle switch to fire the laser, that way it stays on.
