I was eagerly excited to purchase the original Lock On game but my friend purchased it and said that it didn't feel right the planes flew very slow and didn't feel right. There are also numerous bugs with the original game and it was a resource hog to boot. Has the new lock on game flaming cliffs fixed these issues? Do the planes fly fast like they should? And how does it run on the computer? Thanks Nickster

Boberro Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 Basic Lock on 1.02 is really buggy and poor. 1.12 add on is worth its price. Fixes many bugs, add new plane and other sweets, example better FPS. Of course as add-on is on same engine which means poor engine (little upgraded since 1.02) and to get good FPS you must have good PC. Good FPS means about 30 FPS. Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D ಠ_ಠ ツ

Lomac f-15 has decent speed characteristics if you skip loading it up with weapons ;) 1 S = SPARSE(m,n) abbreviates SPARSE([],[],[],m,n,0). This generates the ultimate sparse matrix, an m-by-n all zero matrix. - Matlab help on 'sparse'

If still feels wrong, try some X-BOX based "flight sims" No idea what your expectations of jet speed are, try Space Shuttle or something and stay away from amphetamine... I got FC and never saw any improvement in FPS and I flew FC for 4 Years. Went back to 1.02 and I have no real problems, still have a stupid wingman. There are some tweaks you can do that makes 1.02 very pleasant to fly. FC did bring some new things with it, flyable SU25T,never flew it.One of the things FC brought with it was copy protection. The modders in here have done a great job to enhance both versions, so you will have to make up your own mind as there are pros and cons to both. The one thing I would not do is not get one or the other, both will give you a nice experience. I got Falcon4AF and I don't have it on my machine any more. Clickable cockpit, nice FM but nothing else to brag on. I even bought 3rd party scenery and new cockpit and pilot mod, but the graphics are just to bad. Had some potential but never got there IMHO. I notice signifigant increases in perfromance and stability - As well as continuity in the game - Texture LOD changes, etc.

I don't get that feeling of speed from either my house or my yacht (except when I write the morgage check). :D Mechanical engineers design weapons ... civil engineers design targets.

My FPS increased noteworthy but what is more important there is no short lasting FPS hits anymore. However I heard some opinions better FPS with FC strictly depends on particular computer's hardware. I suppose ED guys changed a little a graphics engine in the right direction. So, because my computer species are close to yours it is very probable your LO:FC playing will also improve. Anyway I like Su-25T's avionics a lot yet this plane is horribly hard to fly. :D Have you noticed, that most of the time you land or get shot down with more than half of your weapons and fuel! When first time I got in to the mission which was based in the mountains I quickly learned that careful calculations are MUST with Su-25T. Keep an eye on the fuel when leaving airbase, check it again when arriving at the mission place, check it before go home and after landing at the base, also check how many weapons you bring back! I'm sure missiles and rockets enjoying the ride you give them, but it affects your flight performance big time. Well "tuned" Su-25T feels almost like A10-A. Try to take just what you know you are going to use! Hard to believe, did shaky 980km/h in level flight with Su-25T... (have screen where doing 960) Death loop was easy peezy... The most common mistake everyone does with Su25T, they loads it without any concern on performance , Oh look, 10 hard points, Oh yeah babe! TV guided X 2, Vikhr x 16, ehh, what else... all right, almost forgot Phantasmagoria and 2x25MP, what else, ehh.. emm... some R73 maybe , and two jammer pods + 3760kg of fuel.... All right, lets fly... and then, jeez, woopsy daisy, what da ...?
