Hi,

When doing air-to-air refueling in the Tomcat, I hook up and Jester starts giving me updates - 7500, 8500, 9500, 10500, 11500. That's where the reports stop. Jester no longer gives me updates, the tanker never reports "Refueling complete". I just sit there - still hooked up - but nothing happens. Eventually I just call "Abort Refueling" and pull out. This happens every time - 100%. By comparison, in all other aircraft - the F-18, the AV8B, the Su-33, the F-16, and the F-15 - I always get a notification from the tanker when the refueling is complete. Just curious if this is a bug with the tanker communication...

Must be new, never had the problem. Sometimes the tanker declares that I'm finished, mostly the S3, because I tryed to fill er up for training purposes.

11500~12000 is max without external tanks, no? If the switch is to the middle position it will only fill you up to 12000 or so. It needs to be in the up position to fill all tanks up to max.

16,100 is max internal, but that includes the wing tanks, which drain (and refill) off the same line as the externals. So you're correct, the tanker and jester will never call the rejoin complete unless the probe switch is in the "all" position.

Sure enough. Just tried by putting the switch in the top position (instead of the middle as I usually do). Jester kept quoting me all the way up to 16000. At that point the tanker told me "refueling complete" and Jester yelled "Thank you, tanker". Thanks everyone!

Ah yeah, I always forget the internal wing tanks are separate. Strange design.

Not strange at all. You would want to be able to cutoff the wing tanks from the rest of the system if you get holes in your wings.

Had the same problem. Jester stopped at 12200 pounds to give updates.

 

 

Because of this thread I found out, that after a reinstall of Windows I mapped my fuel-probe-switch wrongly. Now it works again.

 

 

Strange thing is though, that the Harriers right upon starting the IA-Nevada-AAR-mission go on a collision-course with my Tomcat and you first have to avoid them to be able to do the refuel....
