One thing I couldn't sort out was the missile placement in the missile launchers. So I have hidden them for the moment. You will see them once they are released from the missile launchers.

Hello Ivan,

I had to make some minor updates late yesterday afternoon. It's out for final testing now. I will be releasing her within the hour. It's 1315 pm Eastern standard time. So It should be released by 1430 Eastern or so or earlier.

Hey Guys, I have released the Tarantul Class Update version 1.0.2. Page #1 of the Forum #10 

One thing I forgot to add under features is there are livery Flags for 8 countries that operate the Tarantul including Bulgaria, Egypt, India, Nicaragua, Panama, Romania, Yemen, and Turkmenistan. However, Turkmenistan is not a country in DCS. Panama is a neutral country.  PLEASE PM ME if there are any major technical issues with the mod. Thanks.

Hey Guys there has been a change of plans.

I have been putting off creating the USS Fitzgerald DDG-62 for far too long now. It's a mod I'm passionate about creating because I commissioned and served five years aboard her. Half of the time-consuming modeling part has been completed which is the weapons. Once I complete animating the 96 missile cells she will be close to adding to DCS. It's a big project so I will take my time to make sure everything is created properly. 

With that said I will be creating all three Flight Classes. One technique we use in 3DS Max modeling is called Import/merge. It's copying all the weapons from one mod to another but the good thing about it is all the animations of those weapons are transferred as well. Without having to re-animate all the weapons again. So once FITZ is complete I will import/merge the weapons to the other two Flight Classes. 

As mentioned before it's easy to get distracted while working on one mod so I will continue to work on the Lewis Puller as well but my main focus will be to complete the USS Fitzgerald. I will do what I can when I'm able to do it. My ailments slow me down sometimes so I will not push myself too hard on this.

It will be worth the wait!!! Thanks for your patience and support!!

Hey Guys. Happy Sunday!  I have updated the USS Oak Hill LSD-51. I was told it wasn't appearing and functioning properly. I've updated the weapons so she's able to better defend herself now. I will be releasing the update sometime this week. Stay Tuned!!

Hi, there is the Liaoning carrier, which is a livery for the soviet Kuznetsov carrier Mod, but I don't know if it still wotks for the current DCS release. You can find it in the DCS User Files archive. Enjoy !

I have this livery, but there is a difference between the aircraft carrier Kuznetsov and the aircraft carrier Liaoning, including weapons and so on. DCS now lacks a modern Chinese navy, I hope the Chinese naval assets can be placed in the future update directory Admiral189, I really like the assets he made, And sincere thanks for these excellent free assets

Hello, I love you. Did you know CurrentHill has released an AI Model of Type 55, Type 52D I will release a mod of TYPE 56 once I fix the weapons.  https://www.currenthill.com/

At the moment I don't have any plans to create any Aircraft Carriers because of the time and effort it takes to create one. However, I may create one at some point just not in the near future because of all the AI Ship mods I have to create. I do think a Chinese Aircraft Carrier will fill the gap of missing Chinese ships.

My plan is to release the updated USS Oak Hill by week's end. I will create some liveries for her as well.

Good Morning/Good Afternoon to you all.  I hope everyone is doing well.

I have released USS Oak Hill LSD-51 version 1.0.2 Page one of forum #7. Thanks to Marroux for creating the ship's information file located in the Encyclopedia folder for all the ship mods.

One known issue that Marroux brought up is there may be some FPS drop while taking off from the Flightdeck as a player. He found that it was related to the LODS file. This is something we will have to research to find out why the LODS file cause FPS to drop.

If someone knows how to get each ship to display the livery name of the ship. PM me! Otherwise, all the ships from the livery will display the name of the USS Oak Hill.

PM me if there are any major technical issues. Thanks and Enjoy the Updated AI Ship Mod USS Oak Hill LSD-51.

Admiral - Livery Names, I have sent you a message. Not sure I understand the question, the Liveries are appearing fine. 

The issue with the flight deck might be related to an error in the description.lua, this line:

{"Material #5594",    DIFFUSE            ,    "oakh_fd", false};

There appears to be an extra h, a typo perhaps, should that line not read "oak_fd" - There is no texture file called "oakh_fd" in the main textures folder.

There is also a texture file called "oak_fd_b" in the main texture folder but that does not appear in the description.lua, is that another error perhaps ?

Got another issue, the ships is appearing in the Mission Editor but not appearing when you hit the 'Fly' button, its reverts to the airfield image only, add another ship and that will appear, but no Oak Hill. 

I cant remember why that happens ?

I will PM you Eddie. What I see sometimes are extra textures within 3DS Max and if I don't relink them they may appear amongst the textures. 

Also, you mentioned the ship didn't appear in SIM. I will remove the MASS from the ship as it worked for some and not for others. Update coming! Thanks, Eddie!

Hey Guys! I have released USS Oak Hill LSD-51 ver 1.0.3. If the mod appears ok for you DCS. Then you don't have to download the latest update.

Changes Made: 

--Removed the MASS Electronic Countermeasures from the mod's main Lua file which may cause the ship not to appear in DCS.

--Removed extra textures in 3ds Max.

Glad the issues are resolved so fast ! This ship is a beauty !

Might be a idea just to remove the 1.0.2. version from the main since it now became obsolete.

As Admiral says, I have some FPS issues with some (rare) ships.
For the USS Oak Hill, I have 13 FPS with a playable aircraft and 33 FPS with the AI version of the same aircraft (test done with the AV-8B and the Cuesta brothers' Tiger).

I would like to know if anyone among you notices this phenomenon, or if it is a personal curse?

Hi Marroux, This happens only when using specific ships ? Not on other ships, or on mainland ? Fly low.... 😜
