TaxDollarsAtWork Posted August 13, 2020 Posted August 13, 2020 Would HB consider adding DFCS to the F-14B to make it more different from the coming F-14A? Are enough SME's around for it?

The F14B never had a DFCS AFAIK. What you are asking for would require a LOT of work, additional costs and overhead. Not to mention that it throws away realism down the tubes. Current specs: Windows 10 Home 64bit, i5-9600K @ 3.7 Ghz, 32GB DDR4 RAM, 1TB Samsung EVO 860 M.2 SSD, GAINWARD RTX2060 6GB, Oculus Rift S, MS FFB2 Sidewinder + Warthog Throttle Quadrant, Saitek Pro rudder pedals.

They beat the Fulcrum in a cleaner way Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
Falby Posted August 13, 2020 Posted August 13, 2020 As jcdata said by the late 90's early 2000's all models of F-14's were fitted with DFCS

However my other point still stands, it's difficult if not impossible to implement such a system since it incurs a lot of additional costs for no real gains. (From a business perspective) It would probably make more sense to just make the D variant, and market it and sell it as a whole new module. Indeed, given how much rework a digital FCS would require and how less benefit it would bring in DCS I also don't see that as a worthwile thing to do. Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!
Swordsman422 Posted August 13, 2020 Posted August 13, 2020 If you want DFCS in the Tomcats, you may as well also ask for the PTID and (in the case of the B) Sparrowhawk. All these systems are outside the boundaries for the F-14s we're getting, which are reflective of aircraft in service 1995-98.
fat creason Posted August 13, 2020 Posted August 13, 2020 it incurs a lot of additional costs for no real gains. (From a business perspective) Essentially this. We did not ever plan to do the DFCS for the cat since it's not the version we modeled. Systems Engineer & FM Modeler Heatblur Simulations
TaxDollarsAtWork Posted August 13, 2020 Author Posted August 13, 2020 How about as a paid upgrade later on, or as part of the F-14D if that ever gets added.
fat creason Posted August 13, 2020 Posted August 13, 2020 (edited) Neither of those are likely. We don't have and can't get the documentation needed for the F-14D. Based on the number of times we've said this, maybe it's time for a sticky or banner at the top saying that we cannot make an F-14D Edited August 13, 2020 by fat creason Systems Engineer & FM Modeler Heatblur Simulations
Airhunter Posted August 13, 2020 Posted August 13, 2020 If anything, the analogue nature and not having anything that holds your hand is the charm with the Tomcat and I'm sure the -A will be different enough in many intricate ways.

Ok, Ill see myself out.
Schlomo1933 Posted August 14, 2020 Posted August 14, 2020 they can´t ! Because Heatblur is a serious developer which make realistic Aircraft ! instead of some other devs…. like Razbam
fat creason Posted August 14, 2020 Posted August 14, 2020 Be nice guys. No developers can make a complete module without at least a couple (educated) guesses. A lot of details needed to make good modules are not in manuals. Systems Engineer & FM Modeler Heatblur Simulations
