  2. It needs to be revamped. It's like a super plane. Watch this video besides the pilot Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  3. AFCS planes did unique things in the out of envelope maneuvering.. DFCS corrected or prevented some of the behaviors.. Cartwheeling was real.. Hoser book talks about this. There's a quote in HeyJoe's book, - i forgot the title - from out of plane maneuvering. This past podcast, Jungle verified it again. Flash went up against Langley F15s and beat two of coughing up a motor in the A.. Not all the aviators flew the Tomcat this way. If you did, you were legendary and invincible in BFM. Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk Hud looked similar to f18 but wasnt Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  4. Iiaf pilot doesnt sound authentic or even military imho.. talks about public knowledge Sounds Canadian.. Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  5. Defined because of the compressor blowing out IMHO..I think engine series 412 fixed the issue with stronger band and compressor.. Going by memory and research... Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  6. Wing rate slows the more you load it....e.g add G..the less the G the faster the wing sweep. Wings forward..low induced drag per alpha..from acceleration pov, more parasitic drag... this is a high ASPECT RATIO (7.28) think A10 or glider .. low thrust requirements for STR..why? Low drag vs alpha Aero lift center slight forward..really gets off loaded with gloves at sweep less than 35 Wings aft, high induced drag...think Delta wing..Mirage , F15..lower parasitic drag for acceleration..this is low aspect ratio. Thrust requirements High for PS=0 for STR...high induced vs alpha.. f14 aspect ratio..2.58. Aero center moves aft stability increases as wings move aft. The gloves offset this for transonic and supersonic turn performance... Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  7. First 23 f14s..MSP was programmed for max lift. USN didn't like the bending wings for longevity..since then, the MSP was programmed for excess power Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  8. They're doing a PC trainer Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  9. Anyone do time to climb tests specified 9n NATOPS? Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  10. You understand these charts are calculated estimates? With that said..no one actually tries to get max speed in a flying Tin can near bingo states.. The eagle did with backing from MCD Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  11. Digital flight control system did not mature until the late 90s... With DFCS, there were some maneuvers you could not perform as you did with AFCS. The NASA tested ARI reprogramming helped most of the spin tendencies and quirky high Alpha behavior. They explored 60 alpha arena with the f14, particularly when the F110 engines were being tested. These tests were above 30k'.. source..fighter pilots symposium... If you have time, compare the thrust curves (installed) between the TF30 and F110..you'll see how fat the curve is down low at tactical speeds for the latter. The advantages changes as you fly higher and faster.. Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  12. ITR is 22 DPS at 6.5G STR is 16 DPS Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  13. Do you the link to the dogfight tutorial? Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  14. Animosity..lol There are LARPers wearing suits while flying DCS Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  15. Yup..one or two pilots you claim..yet there are books talk of the "prohibited" actions being used but not by the majority.. The F14 association forum board (before the server crash, that board had a lot of experienced stories in WVR arena.. e.g. going up against a F16 in a slow speed spiral climb, against F15, F18..etc) talked about it a great deal when Hoser (through someone and even his book) and others talked about it. Hoser's thread was huge! Talked about depart flight and knowing where your plane will in space..a la shortcut.. Cartwheeling, asymmetrical thrust..etc.. Also, Maintainers talked about repairing the torque tube. Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  16. All the same airframe... engine weight differrent.. the weights ballooned throughout the years because they Typically left the rails, racks, etc.. Think I am kidding? Go to the f14a weight and start adding the weights to the ranks, stub, rails, pylons, etc... you'll see the base weight match the b and D.. In fact, IIRC, the NATOPS even cites what is included in the base weight. You'll see the stub and other items listed for the b and d. F110 engines were shorter and needed longer extensions Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  17. Don't forget fuel in the wings.... Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  18. No hard limiter on the 15 either.. like the 14..the limiter is the person yanking on the pole Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  19. Funny but disconcerting thread... Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  20. Is the FM derived via external means? Via DLL or anything? Just curious... Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  21. Tf30 installed at mmy. At sea level 28000 lbs..thus 56klbs Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  22. Aerodynamically they're pretty much the same .. unless you go with a different chinpod If the drag numbers are drastically different between something is amiss... sure there are weights and spool rates.. Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  23. "Janky" what does that mean? Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  24. PLA vs RPM it's not linear..ask your SME for typical dirty configuration settings.. As for f110..did the thrust reduction get modeled during landing configuration? This was to increase RPM Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  25. If the flight model with spot in previous builds, then why did they adjust it? Data is data... I understand the SMe's put in so much and put that the developers keep changing it.. Not blaming anybody. Everyone's human everyone once so something supposedly perfect.. However, charts are there are just use the charts.. This is why publishing houses push the release dates for because someone wants perfectionism it's not gonna happen. With the following this plane has you will be constantly updating a plane to appease everyone. At some point you're going to stop and look realisrealistically what is fact and what isn't. I bet you that Psub chart is all messed up now. By the looks of your G chart.. looks like TF30 thrust curve...tf30 was weak at slow speeds that's where the F110 shined. Been there, done that!! Use what data is there and be objective about it and get the job done and work on a next project! Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
