Hiromachi Posted August 19, 2020 Posted August 19, 2020 Hey guys, just so you know, as of today navigation of MiG-21 over Syria map is possible only with ingame map, watch and Mk. I eyeballs. We have prepared couple days before complete RSBN and ARK station list for the 21 for Syria as well as few Instant Action missions (I'm working on 2 more) but they were submitted too late to make it into this update. However, as far as I'm aware, next patch is scheduled to be delivered very soon so they should be included than. If you have any questions, just let me know. In the meantime you are free to try missions. I've uploaded them to my drive so you can play with them even today :) https://drive.google.com/file/d/1S1Tk21PEvUQSz81OaF1ZOd_6urFZlIG5/view?usp=sharing AMD Ryzen 5900X @ 4.95 Ghz / Asus Crosshair VII X470 / 32 GB DDR4 3600 Mhz Cl16 / Radeon 6800XT / Samsung 960 EVO M.2 SSD / Creative SoundBlaster AE-9 / HP Reverb G2 / VIRPIL T-50CM / Thrustmaster TPR Pendular Rudder Pedals / Audio Technica ATH-MSR7

corn322 Posted August 19, 2020 Posted August 19, 2020 What about the RSBN, ARK, and Radio placards in the cockpit? It would be neat if these were blank and could be filled in at runtime by a text file, instead of swapping the cockpit depending on the map and/or mission.
Hiromachi Posted August 19, 2020 Author Posted August 19, 2020 I can forward that suggestion to our artist. For sure its nice idea to consider. pepin1234 Posted August 20, 2020 Posted August 20, 2020 Really need this to put somewhere on map in mission editor. I am worry about the open desert and navigation for lower flight. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Hiromachi Posted August 20, 2020 Author Posted August 20, 2020 I advise that you make suggestion on this matter in our Mantis since its a feature not exactly related to Syria map developments. dunc12 Posted August 21, 2020 Posted August 21, 2020 Number one thing I was looking forward to in Syria was navigating around in the 21, good to know RSBN and ARK stations are coming.

Volator Posted August 27, 2020 Posted August 27, 2020 DCS MiG-21bis by Magnitude 3 Introduced structural damage on g-overloads Introduced pitch stability changes in case of manual ARU operation Enabled navigation data loading for all existing terrains Added navigation data for Syria Updated navigation data for The Channel Added instant action missions for Syria Tuned SAU recovery and automatic landing operations Fixed IR missiles from locking on to the sun under the horizon Fixed ASP reticle from being centered on a radar locked target Adjusted Radar code for FPS increase...see note: NOTE: The radar FPS fix is still WIP and asks for user feedback. Is there a list/file somewhere where you can find the nav data for Syria? 1./JG71 "Richthofen" - Seven Eleven
Hiromachi Posted August 27, 2020 Author Posted August 27, 2020 There should be in the kneeboard. I remember it was submitted. If its not, I will look for some temporal solution so you can use in kneeboard. MiG hooked Posted August 27, 2020 Posted August 27, 2020 (edited) Have the radio channels been configured to correspond with the frequencies of syrian airfields too? My kneeboard just contains a page of frequencies for Cacausus and Nevada. Edited August 27, 2020 by MiG hooked

diditopgun Posted August 27, 2020 Posted August 27, 2020 (edited) Those missions are fun. I really liked the interception one! Hey, glad to hear, those were my first missions I made for DCS :) For info: in the mission SA-2 miss SR P-19 so it can't fire at F-4E and they land at Damascus Int. F-4E don't engage Mig-21, they fly strait to land. Hiromachi Posted August 27, 2020 Author Posted August 27, 2020 SA-2 does not require P-19 but that reduces it engagement capabilities which in this case is fine. There is also SA-6 which is the real threat and in all my tests dealt with Phantoms if user carried mission correctly. As for Phantoms, they always engaged me. In the tests most of the time I launched R-3S missile and departed quickly, with Phantoms in hot pursuit. If it took me too long, they were within AIM-7 envelope and launched missiles. Only in the early tests lack of activation of F-4E was a problem. I will check the mission of course, perhaps something changed in AI or worse, trigger stopped working :) AMD Ryzen 5900X @ 4.95 Ghz / Asus Crosshair VII X470 / 32 GB DDR4 3600 Mhz Cl16 / Radeon 6800XT / Samsung 960 EVO M.2 SSD / Creative SoundBlaster AE-9 / HP Reverb G2 / VIRPIL T-50CM / Thrustmaster TPR Pendular Rudder Pedals / Audio Technica ATH-MSR7

I just come back from testing it and without P-19 SA-2 Fan Song TR is inactive. Hiromachi Posted August 27, 2020 Author Posted August 27, 2020 I guess its one of those DCS things :) AMD Ryzen 5900X @ 4.95 Ghz / Asus Crosshair VII X470 / 32 GB DDR4 3600 Mhz Cl16 / Radeon 6800XT / Samsung 960 EVO M.2 SSD / Creative SoundBlaster AE-9 / HP Reverb G2 / VIRPIL T-50CM / Thrustmaster TPR Pendular Rudder Pedals / Audio Technica ATH-MSR7
dunc12 Posted August 27, 2020 Posted August 27, 2020 Hmm, F4s didn't attack me either, but the mission was a blast regardless. One question though: is there anywhere specific to park to end the mission with a win condition? I ended up shutting down in a parking spot and quitting the mission once I landed.
Hiromachi Posted August 27, 2020 Author Posted August 27, 2020 (edited) The F-4 is not going to attack you right on. Under normal conditions if you takeoff in full burner and climb to intercept and launch about 4 km from the target, F-4s should be still 30 - 40 km away. But they should pursue you and if you turn back / you took too long to intercept, they will engage you with AIM-7. So if you do everything fine, you will be outside of their missiles and can safely fly home allowing SA-6 crew to take care of them. No, it is not specified. You can park in any free spot. Edit: I tested mission. It works as intended. MiG hooked Posted August 29, 2020 Posted August 29, 2020 No, not yet. So, when the ATC granted me permission to start up after I selected radio channel Nr. 1, it is because you edited the Radio channels yourself for those missions?
