^^^^ long known fact. Of course some argue ACMI makes wrong "guesses" for data that is not present in the LUA but still it presents all Human piloted aricraft as Human in such cases anyway.

Cheaters are always caught when human Piloted planes turn into AI mode. This hapens because when you play it again on YOUR computer it will run YOUR unedited parameters for every missile/plane ETC. If anyone had altered parameters on HIS computer, your track wont be able to reproduce events for wich YOUR parameters cannot replicate, and then when such event occurs on the track, the AI takes over any number of involved planes from then on.

Online cheating is one of the reasons why I limit my online flight and when online stick to the 104th and 169th servers.

I was on a well known (air quake ;)) server, flying along minding my own business, nearest enemy was 60km away but engaging a closer friend when my RWR started screaming that I was fired upon from dead ahead.... what!!..... No lock warning .....Ok.... start a defensive manoeuvre when boom...dead. between RWR fire warning and death was about 1.5 - 2 seconds. After looking at the debrief I seen that not only was it an EM that killed me but it was fired a full 50 seconds before any warning was received. Kicked myself for not recording track.

Of course the guy went from being chatty before incident to very quiet when challenged on how this took place.

Something strange is afoot in Lock-On land.

It hapens alot, not having any warning. It often hapens when the shot is made at close range and you are tunring (blind spot) but a full 50sec shot without any warning at all is realy strange, but not unheard of.

Sometimes SARH missiles keep guiding after breaking lock if you keep ECM on, were you Jamming?

Yep, well aware of the blind spots created by wings etc blocking sensors. It was, as you said the fact that the missile was fired at 09:22:04 and splashed me at 09:22:56 which was the strange thing. Ahh well, can't really look into it more without track.

Are there Cheaters in LOMAC...........of Course there is!

It goes without saying, really. Is it the answer we would want to hear? Probably not!

Bottom Line - as already mentioned LockOn is capable of being Hacked/Interfered with, as is all things of Human Origin.....to what extent is another question altogether.

Would you be able to stop it.........Probably Not. From the actions in all probability clevery disguised as In-Game Quirks to the downright ridiculous, it will happen and will continue to do so: Reason - we all can choose how we want to play the Game.

There are no Moral/Ethical rules binding us and dictating how to Fly the SIM and even if there were, who would pay attention?

What LockOn indeed does have and thankfully so is a Community largely based on Mature, Decent, Honest and Friendly Folk that play the Game having due regard certain fundamental principles, which even then are to a certain extent different/suited to specific situations. Consequently "Strange Behaviour" as outlined in prior posts does not occur often, if at all, especially in a Squad Environment.

When it however does occur - let it be Known! Record the track and submit it to the relevant server admins! If that brings no Joy - Make a lotta noise..........

Shame does wonders and in a Community as small and as close-Knit as LockOn it's probably the only effective way of Combatting said behaviour!

Just a Thought........

Maybe it should Tharos..

But not in a way like cry'n in servers with all caps "cheater!!"

It should be done with keeping records of flights..

There are lots of ppl here invested enormous time on virtual cockpits trying to be a good virtual pilot. In that invested time many of us could learn to play a musical instrument i think.. And some guys do a trick here and there and spits on that effort..Makes me wanna cry from anger sometimes..

I am an awful pilot, but there are pilots here who flies like a poem.

And there are ones that envy them but make the kill from shortcut!

We as a community should seek out, find and banish these losers among us.

But not in an immature way!

Not accusing any pilot who evades a missile or two in a graceful show of flight quality.

We should keep track of our flights, in doubt we should examine them, if we find evidence we should expose them..

In a mature way!

my 2 cents

Cheers

There's no 'mature' way to do this, for the reasons listed above.

A witch hunt is a witch hunt, and people shouting "CHEATER" in all caps is -exactly- what is going to happen.

Not because they evaded a missile in some graceful show of flight, but because for some quirky reason they warped out of the way, or the missiles keep exploding but not damaging them, etc etc. Those people aren't necessarily cheating, but you'll just still run off and shout 'cheater' up and down, won't you? 'Cause the game is, of course, perfect, and it could NEVER do things that seem suspicious.

Yes, that was sarcasm.

As I explained before, we've seen very suspicious things happen before and thanks to a lot of effort it was shown that the game itself can cause these problems without help from the user ... while these problems have been significantly reduced with new net code, they have not been entirely eliminated and they still happen.

So, how are YOU going to be able to tell the difference? Not with your recordings, that's for sure.

you have a point there...

yes.. ppl will be immature and shout like stupid kids at first warp.

We all seen it.. and we will continue to see it..

and yes.. we cannot detect every warp or glitch game code sourced..

BUT..

its better to keep track than to suck it up...

i am not saying "lets point fingers!"..

i am just saying lets be aware and keep track thats all..

you call it witch hunt..

i call it SA!

I follow Yeniceri's reasoning, there are more then a few ppl investing in a good and expensive set-up and play sim's with motivation and a grownup mentality, wouldn't you get upset after being ditched and mocked about by some "cheator" who ****s up your play because he is not going for proper play but wants to have the most kills "with all means necesarry" that is just FUBAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I dont either wont everybody starting to point fingers and calling names in servers but its something that has to be delt with.

Yeah I believe there are individuals who have somehow enabled themselves to things others don't or shouldn't be able to, and for me this is cheating. I do't think any more its about proving if someone does it or not... I think as long as you have come accross many situations with same individuals where you just thought "how the hell did he do this???" or you know what I mean... and there is just no logic available to explain it... and it's consistent... you can trust your intuition and conclude something fishy is going on with those individuals. Now I am not talking seing some people warp as I think this happens to the majority of us at times simply because internet is not stable 100% but it should be random. What I am talking about is when you see people that simply can't get hit doesn't matter what you throw at them (at good range and aspect) and this perfect unreal capability of SA of every misile etc... that's I believe is just not possible to have (not in human anyway)... then again I will not forget this situation where I make few good round on a guy and his engine smokes and he still manages to outturn me in very slow stall speed manouvres and place gun round on me, where I think he had to be on one engine... that's just too much for me to believe it was some internet glitch as there was no warping what so ever and not to mention just how does human flown plane get on fire or engine smokes and shortly after the smoke/flame is gone... just like AI... there's a hint...

And what would you think if you have same situation with the same person 20 times a day, how the heck did he do that?!! All alarms inside you are ON, all alarm lights too, Even alarm siren which sounds in your head speaks human and tells me "CHEATER" ahead! It feels like you done your fishing for today. And then all the sarcastic jokes he makes... Tell him to go play other server? :megalol:

I absolutely HATE these kind of threads they are so pathetic and create an absolute bad feeling when flying online with a NEW WAVE OF CRYING CHEAT on servers.

'Printscreening' I hate to see that in chat, idiots claim everyone and anyone that they 'printscreen' because they lag. Really pathetic.

In answer to the question:

YES

Cheating probably happens in LOMAC but IMO its very, very few and far between. I haven't really come across someone where I could absolutely say that guy cheated for sure but ive seen plenty of iffy occasions which could be put down to a number of things and last on the list should be CHEATING.

These threads are mostly created by people who have been flying LOMAC for a short period of time and because someone constantly beats them they cry FOUL , create a big hulabaloo in the community and low and behold there is a hundred fools crying cheat on every server every time they get shot down or calling people printscreener when they're missiles miss.

Come on WTF guys we are supposed to mature adults not CS kidz.

Please understand, what I'm about to say is from the perspective of someone who does not play online sims or games, but used to once upon a time and would take them VERY seriously -- hurling the mouse across the room, punching holes in walls, and smashing the keyboard with my foot seriously.

First off, if someone puts all that time in a sim and really becomes that good, does a cheater really take away any of that skill? Just because someone cheats and kills you doesn't diminish your skill any. I like to ponder about the point of cheating. So you can cheat and do things that you normally couldn't do. Is pissing people off, losing credibility, and never really getting any better worth it? To some people it is, I guess. In the end though, it doesn't take anything away from you.

Second, to be perfectly honest, if someone put as much time as you describe in being good at something like a video game and they really, really care about it that much, they just might have picked the wrong thing to focus all your passion on, I'm sorry to say (I speak from my own experience here :bounce: ). Video games are tenuous things that are just waiting to hacked and torn to shreds. They also garner very little respect outside of a small circle of people.

No, I wouldn't. That's just as childish as the cheater, I'm afraid. If it really came down to that, I'd probably put the sim away until I could find an organized or private place to play.

And by the way, isn't that what most of you all do? Play on private servers or fly with your squadron mates? Doesn't that cut down on cheating?

Why in the hell set something up like "Hyperlobby" where sim-pilots can test their skills against eachother in different tasks, why dont you just cut-off all online games just because some cant handle an honest match?

GG , that still doesn't explain how his engine stoped smoking? From what I believe only AI can do that (you smoke his engine and yet he continues flying as if nothing happened and shortly after smoke/fire is out)?

If you have dual-throttles you can cut thrust in one engine separately and the graphics show no smoke at all. At that time you also lose all the thrust on one side of the plane, making you slower and helping you turn. I am a complete newb, but that is what I do with my Saitek Aviator. Strong rudder trim and gentle steering will even let you land with relative ease on the remaining engine.
