With the ARC-210 on the horizon, and with the upgrades in the A-10C II are there plans to update the UFC to keep it in line with other suite upgrades that we have received?

Specifically the COM 1, COM SEC, IFF, COM 2, ECCM and IDR R/T buttons?

At a minimum I'd like to see:

  • COM 1 key (interact with the ARC-210 through the UFC and HUD)
  • COM SEC key (toggle COMSEC mode of ARC-210)
  • ECCM key (design ARC-210 ECCM presets)

The following are niceties if ED ever improves or adds the systems:

  • IFF select key
  • COM 2 (interact with second ARC-210)
  • IDM RT Select key

It would be nice for realism, but I use that buttons on my UFC (USB addon, not on screen) for openning comms menu and switching to map view, so on the other hand I would loss that possibility :(

@Foka, you don't have to bind the new functions to your physical buttons, you can just click them with the mouse.

Yes I know, I'm just whining :) When I have physical UFC I'll use it as close to real as I can :) If they'll chang it, I'll get used to it.

What would the COM SEC and ECCM buttons do since (other than SRS's "encryption") there is no secure voice or have quick in the game?

Or would those be mostly just for visual accuracy?

I would already be satisfied if those 6 buttons (blank or not) would be able to be used for input by clicking on them. This way I could put some functionality on them (like switching through presets, IFF IDENT, etc.). I understand that a complete radio integration would be more expensive and not on the roadmap, but let us at least use those buttons to some extend.

How do you know what’s planned for the ARC-210?

would be nice if they'd update the CDU as well. i recall reading that one of the blank buttons is for markpoint deletion

Please keep this thread to the topic originally posted, updating the UFC for ARC-210 integration.

Sorry, did not want to hijack. I also would love a full UFC/ARC210 integration (including the info of the selected chans/freqs in the HUD - oh no not again hijacking/getting off track ...). I'll create another thread for my wish.

In the release trailer the ARC-210 is in the forward position and there's still an ARC-186 in the aft.

Not that I've seen.

The same radio head controls both ARC-201s so you can't tell just by what you see in the pit.

I understand, my jet has one head control two RTs as well, but wouldn't the second ARC-210 remove the FM ARC-186 or did the jet get a fourth radio at that point?
