OK I am having some confusion about engagement sequence of laser guided Mavs and rockets.

Do I fire laser Mav before or after laser designator in sparkling the target? Laser Mav appears to refuse to come off the rail unless it sees laser spot. But if I am holding down LASE button, I cannot let it go and fire Mav. So I am confused as to how its actually done. With rockets, it seems that I fire the rockets first, then after release, LASE the target and rockets guide to it.

But laser Maverick is more confusing. In AV-8B and F/A-18, laser can be left to ON to lase continuously untill turned off, allowing uncaging of seeker and releasing of weapon. But in A-10C, lasing is a hot button that requires NWS steering to be depressed and held. Which prohibits of uncaging Mav and releasing it. I am running out of fingers.

You select ‘latch’ under the pod options menu. Will allow you to Depress the NWS key once and have laser continuously fire.

When in doubt, Wags has a youtube video on it.

Yeah there is a bunch of new functionality, or new to me in A-10C. Like entering PRF code into Mav L. Mav L page displays 1111 default PRF code, with Mav L being SOI, it is still not accepting my UFC numeric input to set PRF.

Mav H no longer works for me at all. It refuses to lock and always presents LAUNCH INHIBIT error. I do not understand how to get around that. As H used to lock on automatically to high contrast point in day time. Does not work like in A-10C V1 , so I need to get it sorted. D and G seem to work fine in V2 as they did in V1. Just guide crosshair over hot point and both track.

Laser latch is not a new function.

Few HOTAS command have changed, check the new manual.

You can change PRF od Mav using UFC in DSMS. In Mav page on MFCD you use HOTAS, again - refer to manual.

I know. RTFM. I don't really like RTFM. I use it, I just don't like it.

Problem with that. in DSMS in Mav page with 1111 default code displayed, and set to SOI, how do I enter the code? Using UFC number buttons, but pressing them does not work. Neither does pressing any function buttons on Mav page of DSMS change the laser code. So I am stuck on that for now, until I sort it out. If I sorted out. TPOD has default code of 1688 and that works for APKWS rockets. I like that weapon. Ripple fire the rockets from 3 nm out, then lase. Plenty of time during rocket TOF to lase target. Would love to have it for AV-8B and F/A-18C. Be even cooler if we had laser guided Zuni.

Please do not wish for laser guided 30mm ammunition.

The only thing I know is that APKWS are my new best friends. Very fun to use.

Please do not wish for laser guided 30mm ammunition. You never know when DARPA may be listening, and saying "Hey that's a great idea"

To change laser code.

On DSMS page click Inventory - Mav L - Missile - Mav L. On top of screen you'll see laser code. First punch number in using UFC. Then click on the las code OSB. Then click Load on lower right OSB.

I think you're mixing DSMS and Mav page.

As cthulhu68 said, you have to go to DSMS page, then Inventory and so on...

On Mav page you can change PRF using Boat switch.

And I don't know how did you get default 1111 code, me and all my friends have 1688 on Mav.
