Deezle Posted October 5, 2020 Posted October 5, 2020 FWIW, you can add these yourself. While I don't cover axes specifically in this tutorial, the same principals apply in creating your own axis binds. These are the axis binds I've added to mine. {action = 3009, cockpit_device_id = 49, name = 'Formation Lights'}, {action = 3001, cockpit_device_id = 49, name = 'Engine Instruments Lights'}, {action = 3002, cockpit_device_id = 49, name = 'Flight Instruments Lights'}, {action = 3003, cockpit_device_id = 49, name = 'Auxiliary Instruments Lights'}, {action = 3005, cockpit_device_id = 49, name = 'Flood Light'}, {action = 3006, cockpit_device_id = 49, name = 'Console Light'}, Intel 9600K@4.7GHz, Asus Z390, 64GB DDR4, EVGA RTX 3070, Custom Water Cooling, 970 EVO 1TB NVMe 34" UltraWide 3440x1440 Curved Monitor, 21" Touch Screen MFD monitor, TIR5 My Pit Build, Moza AB9 FFB w/WH Grip, TMWH Throttle, MFG Crosswinds W/Combat Pedals/Damper, Custom A-10C panels, Custom Helo Collective, SimShaker with Transducer
Bloody Posted October 25, 2020 Posted October 25, 2020 +1 We have it in F/A-18 and I don't think is too much work for developers to update default.lua. It is quite annoying to keep overriding the existing default.lua after each update. My main requests are TCN, ILS and audio knobs. I would be very grateful :) ED PLEASE :)

Bloody Posted October 26, 2020 Posted October 26, 2020 Hi! Ye, sure, but look. In the newest Wags video we can see that ED will update the controls and if I'll try to override it with a mod it will be a disaster. Am I correct? IMO adding this by developers will be less problematic :)
LeCuvier Posted November 6, 2020 Posted November 6, 2020 Yes, when ED makes additions or changes to the stock file you have to compare the stock versus modified files to see what has been added or changed. Notepad++ provides a very useful plug-in function for that. If there are very few additions, I just copy the additions over to the modified file. If there are lots of additions or even changes, I make a new mod file by copying all my additions over to the new stock file. Of course, I have all my added button bindings in one consecutive block. Any axis addition must be copied separately of course, because it goes into the axis block. And when ED has added new bindings you must also check if any of those duplicate something you have added earlier, and remove the duplications. And before an Update or Repair, I use OvGME to back out the mods. OvGME keeps copies of your mod files and has a function to move them back in after the Update/Repair. As you say, It would be much easier for us if ED added all the bindings we wish to have. But that's probably unrealistic. Especially because people have such a huge variety of wishes.
