Has anyone seen this video? If so, do you know what he's saying about the performance? I only speak English.

Apologies if this has already been posted.

thanks.

NM: Just realized I can turn on CC for English, LOL.

It's the same Resolution as the G1, so it shouldn't make a Difference in DCS Performance .

Ok, I can barely squeeze out 45 fps in CV1. Just wondering if I should pull the trigger on HP G2 with my current rig. I can't afford anymore upgrades right now.

thanks for info.

A lot will depend on your dcs config, and vr settings, but I get a pretty clear and constant 45 fps our of my rig and settings, mine are below in my sig, usually people have cranked up their pd way to high and are adding a lot of aa or super sampling end up in a lot of trouble on the Reverb, becuase they forget how big the native resolution is.

That said I would seriously recommend overclocking your cpu, and turning off hyper threading, you should be able to get at least 5ghz out of your cpu with a decent cooling solution. I would recommend the same of your gpu, moving the voltage and power target to the max. Should help

G2 will have eye tracking and foveated rendering. While foveated rendering have to be supported by the game I ( we?) do not know how much effort is needed to add this to DCS. Maybe it isnt a big deal and we can get it to DCS within one year? ( or, two weeks :-) )

Reverbs much higher resolution makes it possible to not use Supersampling, or even undersampling( use lower resolution than Reverb native, there is a thread here about this).

If you have a 9900K and a 1080ti you should be able to make it playable with CV1, perhaps you need to leatn about what settings not to use due to much harder to performance than the pocture gain.

Just for clarification, Reverb G2 have no eye tracking, Reverb G2 Omnicept Edition will have, two different devices :smilewink:

I went from a CV1 to a Reverb G1 and noticed a pretty substantial increase in performance once I got my settings right. With the CV1, I was using a DCS PD of 2.0, which brought things to a crawl when I switched to the Reverb. But, I lowered the PD to 1.0 and it was like a new game. I had much better visual quality than the CV1, as well as better performance because higher super-sampling/pixel density was no longer needed to get good image clarity.

Yeah, I went from a CV1 to reverb, and turned my settings UP...

@Gunfighter6

I have almost the same specs as you: 10700K which is slightly faster and a watercooled 1080Ti. I run the Reverb at 150% SS!!!

SSAA is soooo much better than MSAA in DCS. It's a double benefit - more clairty and also provides AA.

Of course the aim is to maintain 45 FPS and then use reprojection. But in other sims, I can hit 90 FPS easily even with 150% SS on a Reverb.

Whoa there? This is the first I've heard that SSAA is better than MSAA. I always thought it was the other way around?

It provides more clarity + AA than MSAA on the HP Reverb? :shocking:

You forgot about mission complexity and a plane you are in. Flying solo over Georgia in Su25 is not the same as flying online over Syria in MiG-21 with radar turned on.

Also true, but generally with a few narrow edge cases I can maintain 45fps, as should the op with his hardware.

Whilst on your hardware you will feel the cpu as a bottle neck more frequently... I did too on my o+ and 6600k
