ex81 Posted October 10, 2020 Posted October 10, 2020 Hi, I think I will upgrade from 16 to 32 GB RAM, but will I really see any advantage from it ? Answers are much welcome ! POLARIS1 Posted October 10, 2020 Posted October 10, 2020 Actually...with modern recent modules one can not actually fly in MP without. Take any monitoring program and watch your RAM usage to witness how it evaporates to 20 and above in medium stress MP scenarios.
The_Nephilim Posted October 10, 2020 Posted October 10, 2020 Well I would say it will definetely help a bit.. are you using VR? I have a O+ and in the one instant action mission the RAM Used is upto 20.3GB MP can see upto 28GB in use.. So basically if you have 16GB RAM and the game needs more ram it is going to use Pagefile which is gonna be slower then RAM itself.. ex81 Posted October 10, 2020 Author Posted October 10, 2020 Thanx for the quick answers. There a two pieces installed which are named DIMM DDR4 and they are 2666 MHz fast. What if I install faster DIMMs ? Will this bring up any problem or maybe advantage running my machine ? As always, answers and hints are very welcome. What goes up, must come down ! Taz1004 Posted October 10, 2020 Posted October 10, 2020 Faster RAM modules like 3200 Mbps will run at 2666. So not much benefit from getting faster RAM. But if the price is about same, it shouldn't hurt either. You can also try to overclock your existing RAM to somewhere 2800 (should be easily attainable) or 2933. More important than mis-match of RAM's is whether your motherboard will support the faster RAM. Better Smoke - Better Trees Caucasus - Better Trees Syria - Better Trees Mariana - Clear Canopy Glass

Low end Intel chipsets dont support more than 2666, regardless of how fast your RAM actually is. 2: Never a good idea to mix different RAM speeds, that is one way to get grey hair ! Best advice ( IF your mobo/chipset allows fast RAM ), get a 32GB kit and try to sell yours to someone that "only" needs 2666MHz. Your pal can try them, if they work he can buy them from you, if not, look for another buyer.
