Alex_rcpilot Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 I've been to many major cities in China and I've never seen such uniform worn by the security guys. The language spoken in the background doesn't sound like Chinese, and those passengers are too quiet to be Chinese people. If you would like, I'll show you some real vids regarding Chinese metro. Yes there are stations where a lotta passengers squeeze into the carriage during rush hours but they would stay in queue and wait for the next train if they really can't get on. And one thing I can assure you is that no security personnel is allowed to squeeze passengers into the carriage, instead they are told to hold them back to prevent any potential danger.

thereminqblank Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 I like how you expect the guy in the uniform to stop people from pushing, but he just goes ahead and helps them push... "Unholy Roller" [sIGPIC]http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/images/userbars/A-10C_UserBar_01.gif[/sIGPIC]

JEFX Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 Hi guys, I just left Tokyo yesterday and this video is most definitely from Japan. The guys in uniform are official pushers and they do it with politeness and white gloves... I recognize their uniform. It has been like that at rush hours in the Tokyo metro for more than 20 years. Japanese people are the most polite and patient people I know but they are 37 million in one city... They have an urban savroi-faire that makes it feel not so big and overwhelming (people respect each other, stay in lines, wait for their turn, put a mask on their face when sick, wait or the light to cross the incredibly wide streets, never steel, etc...). As big as it is, Tokyo feels pretty good and welcoming. But they do squeeze each other like that in the metro willingly... It is quite surprising the first time you get caught in it... It suspends you litterally in the air. JEFX [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] In DCS I fly jets with thousands of pounds of thrust... In real life I fly a humble Cessna Hawx XP II with 210 HP :D
Alex_rcpilot Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 Imagine Olympics with stewards like that...pushing spectators around! As in previous replies, that ain't Chinese metro. Beijing iss ganna be REAL crowded in auguest, but there won't be pushers like this, the passengers are not so polite to accept this. During rush hours in the morning, I could hear passengers yelling against people squeezing their backs, with platform security guys trying their best to hold back the rest of the queue.
Alex_rcpilot Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 TorwaK, I think it's time that we corrected the name of the thread.

Kuky Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 er... what happens when they open the door? Alex_rcpilot Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 Thanks. I think Chinese passengers need just a little more endurance under circumstances like this kind of rush hour crowding thing. Those people in the vid are very quiet.
Alex_rcpilot Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 er... what happens when they open the door? Is there like an explosion of people coming out everywhere? :D Sort of like that, I've been a particle of one minor explosion in Shin-Osaka. Much less crowded than this.
leafer Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 but they would stay in queue and wait for the next train if they really can't get on. Chinese people staying in line and wait their turn? You're sheetin' me, right? ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
Alex_rcpilot Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 Chinese people staying in line and wait their turn? You're sheetin' me, right? To be objective and honest on this issue, Chinese people, especially those from rural areas tend to be less concerned about other citizens and they cause lots of disorders. But I was specifically talking about those passengers on subway platforms in Beijng. I'm a Chinese, each time I go through some crowded area I'd take my time, and wait my turn, no matter whether there is a queue or not, and no matter how urgent it is for me to get through. There are a lotta citizens like me. So I wasn't shettin' you on this. Don't get it carried away.
