5e EVC Chappy Posted November 5, 2020 Posted November 5, 2020 FIXED. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong, but when I press TDC over the desired grid nothing happens. The bar underneath it blinks for about half a second then dissapears. Echo179 Posted November 5, 2020 Posted November 5, 2020 I'm having similar issues. I tried swapping the TDC function back to 'realistic' in the special menu. That made it work, at least sometimes. However, I then have the issue of having to deal with that TDC function, using the Warthog slew nipple, which is the whole reason for the option.
MrReynolds Posted November 5, 2020 Posted November 5, 2020 I too have had this problem - selecting the box. I had to go back to Wag's video to make sure it wasn't me. IT'S FINICKY depressing the target grid square. Depressing the button DOES toggle the little line at the bottom of the box, but it doesn't select sometimes. Give it a GOOD press. It does work. I don't know if there is deliberate delay, lag or whatever, but it is very simple and I bet you aren't doing anything wrong. At work, so speed typing. Hope you get it fixed :-)
Swift. Posted November 5, 2020 Posted November 5, 2020 The Square will deselect if the TDC is moved. This is very easy to do when using the TDC depress as you will more often than not, accidentally move the slew. Why its happening with ENT aswell may be because the TDC slew axis has some noise. 476th Discord | 476th Website | Swift Youtube Ryzen 5800x, RTX 4070ti, 64GB, Quest 2
Tracker1 Posted December 11, 2020 Posted December 11, 2020 (edited) 1. JTAC says GRID coordinate & elevation, I can't seem to find the right one 2. Should the target be designated over the IP, relative to the aircrafts position to the target? (I'm not sure which square to designate based on the letters) 3. An explanation of the GRID in the F-18, would be adequate. 4. A detailed video would be much better. Edited December 11, 2020 by Tracker1

Recluse Posted December 14, 2020 Posted December 14, 2020 (edited) Note: the GRIDS are really huge! When you are zoomed in on the F10 map you'll see a lot of grids marked, e.g. CQ60, CQ70 etc.. Zoom way out and you will see GRID CQ covers a lot of territory. Those first 2 letters are all you need. If a JTAC gives them to you you can select the grid and punch them right in (6 digits). If you want to find a place on the map by yourself, you can hit PRECISE and type in all 10, but it you want to use 6, be advised to take the FIRST 3 digits from the first data block and the FIRST 3 digits from the second as your SIX. e.g. CQ68871 09532 You would punch in 688095 after selecting grid CQ when not in PRECISE mode. If you are not getting the entry screen after TDC Depress on the correct GRID square, there is something odd with your mappings possibly. Here's another good video..showing the whole JTAC scenario. I didn’t explain very well what I meant. The in game JTAC uses the 6 digit grid so there’s still a bit of searching involved and when I enter in waypoints I only use preside grid. The 6 digit is off by too much for my purposes. Edited January 1, 2021 by fmedges [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Allied Air Command Website | Allied Air Command Discord
