Sparrows launched in PD-STT do not guide.

Sparrows launched in P-STT do guide, but all of them loft with ACM cover down.

The AIM-7MH is still doing the weird minimum G turn off thing referenced here.

Tested with air start F-14A, F-14B

F-14A Sparrows All Kinds PD-STT.trk

F-14B Sparrows All Kinds P-STT ACM flicker.trk

Does this never get tested before they push these updates? Like, at least go fire some missiles and see if they still work correctly.

We did of course, and it worked during the tests. Sometimes in the final patch the tiniest mismatches between something ED did or we did can still cause issues not noticed during testing. Our apologies for that.

I see. Well that is a bummer. Why does ED even keep messing with the AIM-7 all the time?

To improve its behaviour. ED is currently reworking all the major A-A missiles.

Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit

DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!

I thought the AIM7 was done? It was in a fine state already. They have been doing it for a year now...

I'm partially to blame for this.

ED made changes to the APN guidance last year, but these apparently never manifested because of a naming conflict with copies of the Sparrow class HB uses on the F-14. This was discovered and fixed back in May, but there were some bugs with the APN causing the missiles to behave strangely during the last phase of their flight. ED fixed this sometime in August for the F/A-18 and F-15, however some strangeness remained with the F-14. I have been bugging HB over a specific issue with their AIM-7s making strange maneuvers when attempting to hit the target after being fired at long range.

It just sucks that in an air combat simulator you arent able to use most missiles for about a year now... they are always bent in one way or another, which is getting quite annoying.

Agreed. There is always something constantly wrong with the combat side of DCS, whether it's missiles or AI. And this is why I'm really good at carrier traps in the Hornet and Tomcat, and suck at everything else.
