jmal82 Posted November 27, 2020 Posted November 27, 2020 Today, I purchased the Viper through Steam, it appeared to download and the module shows up in my steam account. I also see the module when I sign into the game itself. However, when I load a mission, it will not load me into the plane and instead, I am stuck on an external view. It may be of note that I downloaded the Viper during the free weekend in April and when I look at my steam accountreceipts for both the "Free weekend" Viper and the "Purchased Viper" show up. I considered permanently removing the "DCS F-16C Viper Free Weekend - Apr 2020" from my account, but I'm worried that if I do that, I'll lock myself out of the "Purchased Viper" and be out the money I just spent. I'm really annoyed that I'm not able to run this and any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Flappie Posted November 27, 2020 Posted November 27, 2020 Hi. Please go to your DCS module manager through the game main menu. There, you can disable any module (switch icon) and / or delete any module files (bin icon). It won't break anything. See if you have multiple F-16 modules showing up. Please attach a screenshot using the "Upload Attachments" button below. ---

Unfortunately, I have the Steam version of DCS and there isn't a module manager. When I look on the the local steam files and check for a listing of modules, I only see one F-16 and if I disable that one, the mod I purchased disappears from the game.
Flappie Posted November 27, 2020 Posted November 27, 2020 Sorry, I'm not familiar with the Steam version of DCS. I'm sure someone more Steam-savvy will come to help you in a bit. ---
Flappie Posted November 27, 2020 Posted November 27, 2020 There's a Steam support section in this forum. I've found this post from BIGNEWY. I think you can safely remove your "free weekend" F-16. ---

silverdevil Posted November 27, 2020 Posted November 27, 2020 @jmal82 Flappie means module manager in DCS. this has nothing to do with Steam vs ED direct. within the DCS at start screen there is a menu item at the tops (looks like waffle). this is the module manager AKA_SilverDevil Join AKA Wardogs Email Address My YouTube “The MIGS came up, the MIGS were aggressive, we tangled, they lost.” - Robin Olds - An American fighter pilot.
