shake307 Posted November 29, 2020 Posted November 29, 2020 I know this belongs in the Mig-21 threads, but I don't feel like it is getting enough attention there as this problem has been going for several months now. There is a significant drop in FPS when the radar is turned on. The only "fix" is to roll back nVidia drivers to an older version. That is not a fix, it is a band-aid. There are quite a few posts in the Magnitude 3 forums about this, and they seem to be pointing at ED for the problem. I figured I could post on here about this issue and at least get it some kind of attention. It sure doesn't seem to be getting attention in the Mig-21 forums. On that note, does anybody have a good recommendation for a choice between Mirage, Hornet, or Viper? 1 ASUS X570 Plus TUF MOBO, Ryzen 3900X CPU, EVGA 2080 Super GPU, 32GB RAM, 500GB SSD
jppsx Posted November 29, 2020 Posted November 29, 2020 get older nvidia driver 442.19 seam to fix the issue
Dallenbach Posted November 29, 2020 Posted November 29, 2020 The old driver is not a fix. It's a terrible solution if you need newest driver.
Buzzles Posted November 29, 2020 Posted November 29, 2020 This does not affect me as I'm on the AMD train, but considering how long it's been hanging about, I'd hope ED would be offering a lot more support at this point to get it fixed, as it affects a lot of people. MickV Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 Seems like this recurring bug is back. Low-altitude and radar on results in severe FPS drops for me. Worse on SP than MP, for some strange reason. Radar off, FPS snaps back to normal. Very noticeable since last patch a few days ago.
Volator Posted October 1, 2022 Posted October 1, 2022 Yes, it's back. Had this issue both on Caucasus and Syria. 1 1./JG71 "Richthofen" - Seven Eleven
enigma6584 Posted October 1, 2022 Posted October 1, 2022 I believe I experience this the other night but in a different module, specifically the Mig-19P. I was in a dogfight, was down low pointing my nose at the ground and noticed a pretty severe frame rate drops. Quickly turned radar off, all was well and works perfectly up at high altitude. Just thought I'd share this since it may be a "core code" thing that ED needs to deal with. 1
Volator Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 Issue seems to be gone again with 2.8. I have run some quick tests with MiG-19 and MiG-21 on Caucasus and Syria and did not notice any fps drops with ground clutter visible. 1 1./JG71 "Richthofen" - Seven Eleven
