[NO BUG]Cannot join as WSO (F14) when don't own Supercarrier DLC

As the title says one cannot join another player's aircraft that's based off the supercarrier if you do not own the supercarrier. In the screenshot these players own the Supercarrier however I do not. As one can see I'm unable to join as WSO.

That is correct, to use the super carrier you need to own it. 

 

you can spawn on the free carrier cvn 74 however.

Even as a WSO? The WSO cannot use any functionality of the supercarrier so what difference does it make?

yes even for the WSO, its a condition for spawn on the supercarrier.

I understand your point, but how could/should you technically see any object around you, if it is not on your own computer?

The SC's assets are a core module, they're on your computer regardless of whether you own the DLC. My argument was RIO's shouldn't need to buy the DLC to be the RIO as it has no affect on their gameplay.

Well, obviously there might be different opinions, in this case I understand ED position. At the end you do are enjoying the Supercarrier functionality and visuals if you are an WSO.

Also you would be enjoying the comms and cat launch functionality to some extent, I could agree with you that is only partially but they cannot sell "only WSO SC licenses" either.

 

And they are giving a free less detailed supercarrier option which is nice.

Try to spawn as a RIO. maybe it can work!
