Sr. Posted December 28, 2020 Posted December 28, 2020 (edited) According to this: https://vr4dcs.com/2020/07/05/dx11-reinstall-for-dcs/ I have installed DX11, but I don't see where or how to "force SteamVR " to use it. When I run dxdiag it shows I'm running 12 Edit: I am on non steam stand alone open beta. speed-of-heat Posted December 29, 2020 Posted December 29, 2020 i'd be really careful about installing legacy versions of DX... some people have had some odd experiences... that said, i think forcing dx11 used to be an option in Steam VR, i cant seem to find it now, it might no longer be supported? i think it is possible to do this via Steam (apps)... JayRoc Posted December 30, 2020 Posted December 30, 2020 It is still supported, at least with WMR devices. Open the Steam in Game menu with your controller and go to the Headset settings (bottom left), under graphics you can find that option. JayRoc Posted December 30, 2020 Posted December 30, 2020 It makes a huge difference for AMD 6000 cards with WMR Headsets in VR. FC3 | F-14A/B | F-16C | SA342 R5 5600X | 32GB | RX 6800XT | TM Cougar | T-Rudder mk.IV | HP Reverb G2 Thrustmaster Cougar Throttle USB standalone MOD

Quekel Posted December 30, 2020 Posted December 30, 2020 (edited) Found this on reddit: Not sure if legacy repro does anything for WMR, but ForceDisableDX11 uses the CPU to do reprojection, whereas if its set to false WMR uses the "new" GPU-based reprojection. If your game is GPU-bound, you might get smoother reprojection using the old CPU-based method, and vice versa if your game is CPU-bound. I'm CPU bound, so i'll leave it as it is Edited December 30, 2020 by Quekel
retlaw Posted February 20, 2021 Posted February 20, 2021 (edited) Yeah.. I tried this, and went from 45 FPS to 30 FPS in VR. And now I can`t go back to 45 FPS by disabling D11 force mode. DCS repair, reinstalling WMR, GPU driver or SteamVR did`t work either. My new system: Asus rog strix X570 F, 5800X, 6900XT, 32 RAM CL16, HP Reverb G2. I have better FPS on my old system.
