GumidekCZ Posted January 27, 2021 Posted January 27, 2021 DCS 2.5.6.60645 Open Beta When other ships are near by the target ship - in Harpoons seeker FOV, R/BL mod will always guide to other ships. Tried designation by MAP or SEA mode, any Harpoon profile setting... no matter what... same wrong result. My appologies, if already reported before and is REPORTED and worked on by ED team. WOPR Posted January 27, 2021 Posted January 27, 2021 Mine flew right past the target and never found them. Used "LARGE" for target size, I'm pretty sure the Kuznetzov qualifies for the size.
dorianR666 Posted January 28, 2021 Posted January 28, 2021 (edited) Same. I locked ship with SEA AG radar mode, fired Harpoon in RBL and it overflew the target and self destructed. With some experimentation, i found out that if you make the Harpoon fly low and on the axis of target's movement, it has higher chance of detecting the target. I suspect its because the Harpoon is flying to coordinates of where the target was at the time of launch, but the target will have already moved couple miles away. Northstar98 Posted January 28, 2021 Posted January 28, 2021 (edited) I would've thought R/BL mode would've accounted for the ship's movement (approximating where the ship should be based on its current speed, course and range and approximate ToF). Or maybe it doesn't. While I haven't ha my Harpoons miss, I've noticed that when POP is selected for the terminal stage, it crashes into the water (and this is with FLT set to low - 5000 feet). I cant prove it for sure, but it doesnt seem to do that in DCS. And there probably arent publicly available docs to say whether it should do that. Agreed, I'm just wondering if the real mode does something like that.
