dggoofy Posted January 28, 2021 Posted January 28, 2021 Hi, I don't know where to post this. Here is my question. I have a Thrustmaster joystick and a rudder CH Product. They work both very well. No sweat. BUT... Every time I turn the computer ON, the rudder joystick won't work in DCS. It is recognize, in Windows 10 too (I can move the axes and it shows it works), but in DCS no axis. It appears in the pluged-in sticks, but no effect. I have to unplug it and re-plug it after each computer start. No problem with the Thrustmaster that stays plugged. Any idea ? Cheers Daniel
draconus Posted January 28, 2021 Posted January 28, 2021 Just a guess- try powered USB hub or put the CH into newer (better powered) USB port directly on the motherboard. Don't use USB extension cords. Also there should be "rescan devices" button in controls menu. Win10 i7-10700KF 32GB RTX4070S Quest 3 T16000M VPC CDT-VMAX TFRP FC3 F-14A/B F-15E CA SC NTTR PG Syria

Rescan too... no success 1 hour ago, dukovac said: Maybe Windows turning USB ports off for power management. https://www.windowscentral.com/how-prevent-windows-10-turning-usb-devices Just tried now. No change. Well, not a big deal. I just have to unplug and plug again. It seems that is a problem with Windows 10. I never had such a odd think on Windows 7. Thanks again

dggoofy Posted January 28, 2021 Author Posted January 28, 2021 OH YEAAAAH! This small freeware does the job perfectly. No need to unplug and plug any more. Thanks Dukovac!

USBDeview AWESOMENESS! I don't know about you guys, but every now and then I come across a game that says "I found a bunch of USB HIDs and will gladly use all of their inputs in order to send the mouse cursor all across the window all the time and will make this game entirely unplayable and even unconfigurable, unless the user crawls behind the PC and disconnects the rudder pedals and the throttles", ranging from small-time indy developers to some pretty well known AAA titles. And I've been wishing for such a tool for many years, never knowing it already existed. Thanks so much for the link!

Oh my, the best feature is the option to deinstall USB device drivers from USB-sticks, that blocked certain USB-sticks Windows "thinks" have the same controller chip, but actually don't.
