To me it seems that max range for the weapons are extended far beyond their actual combat radius. Ill give it another go again soon, but not really liking the results so far.

Evaluating the whole process is best in parts. Make some mark points using your sensors and then compare the recorded L/L with the actual target L/L. The weapons hitting exactly the coordinates given to it but not the coordinates of the target means that the weapon is fine but the method of generating them from sensors is not.

Then try dropping JDAM on explicitly typed known good target coordinates by waypoint. Now you know that your target coordinates are good and if weapon doesn't hit them it is due to the weapon. By separating these two effects you'll diagnose the issue more clearly.

I kinda beg to differ. You MAY be right for the most part, but the coordinates I put into my ordnance in the track above were manually placed in PP mode prior to take off while aligning. They were off by almost 2-3 miles because the weapons told me  they were within range, yet I still somehow managed to launch far outside launch parameters. Even if I placed one target correctly into a JDAM, all 4 missed by miles.

I'm looking at it. It's long. First thing I've noticed is you have PP1 for STA2 and 8 but PP1/PP2 for STA3. That's weird because you only have one JDAM on stations 2 & 3 and two JDAM on station 8. I'd expect to see having two plans for the station with two bombs.

maybe its playing back incorrectly. the single racks i used PP1, and on the double rack I used PP1 and PP2 for the BRU. i accounted for the track playback issue by loading up the same bomb on different pylons and on a BRU to cover all the bases.

You did later. On station 3 you had two missions but you added a second mission for station 8 a few minutes after I had looked. They dropped at about the 27 minute mark and looking at them they are asked to glide way way too far (~30km). They just don't make it.

Oh yeah; the in range cue was displayed in the HUD while I was climbing and accelerating. Waited a few more seconds to get a better shot, but the range parameters are way out of whack. I was definitely out of range at launch, and I knew it almost immediately. I rarely launch JDAMS in PP mode, as I sometimes get confused which station is which, and how to put in a PP* on a BRU. Also was looking in my profile making sure I had 4 separate targets loaded up and noticed I missed one so I went back and double/triple checked them.

Ok, I tested another GBU38 on same mission but different loadout. This time I launched at 10nm away from the target, straight and level at around 27000'. Target hit dead center. My opinion is that the range cues are out of limits for the weapon.

Another update- I was able to score direct hits using TOO mode on the fly with both the ATFLIR and Litening pods. Ill test a bit more, but I was able to drop at high altitudes, low speeds, and in range cues were correct. Again within the 10-11nm range. Ill try further next time, but for now PP seems to be an issue.

Taz,

Did you happen to notice which one missed?  I how found that pickling at max range almost always results in a miss.

Caldera

Sorry, you didn't tag me so I didn't notice the question.  It was the last bomb that missed.  It was well within min range.  I did test few more times after that and most of the time I get all 4 on target.  And miss from time to time.  I'd say accuracy is about 80-90%.

Also similar result from Hornet.
