sirrah Posted February 12, 2021 Posted February 12, 2021 (edited) Would be great to have the ability to turn off AI "Christmas trees" (external lighting) when flying over enemy territory (Or better, add an "Ingress/Egress" radio command to AI, but that's a wish for another section I guess) Edited February 14, 2021 by sirrah 6 System specs: i7-8700K @stock speed - GTX 1080TI @ stock speed - AsRock Extreme4 Z370 - 32GB DDR4 @3GHz- 500GB SSD - 2TB nvme - 650W PSU HP Reverb G1 v2 - Saitek Pro pedals - TM Warthog HOTAS - TM F/A-18 Grip - TM Cougar HOTAS (NN-Dan mod) & (throttle standalone mod) - VIRPIL VPC Rotor TCS Plus with ALPHA-L grip - Pointctrl & aux banks <-- must have for VR users!! - Andre's SimShaker Jetpad - Fully adjustable DIY playseat - VA+VAICOM - Realsimulator FSSB-R3 ~ That nuke might not have been the best of ideas, Sir... the enemy is furious ~ GUMMBAH
TOViper Posted February 18, 2021 Posted February 18, 2021 The sub-options for this command could be: SEARCH (for helicopter units) (ON or OFF checkbox) STROBE (ON or OFF checkbox) NAV lights (ON or OFF checkbox) POS lights STROBE (ON or OFF checkbox) FORMATION lights (ON or OFF checkbox) LANDING lights (ON or OFF checkbox) TAXI lights (ON or OFF checkbox) ALL (ON or OFF checkbox disabling/enabling the other options) That would be fantastic. 1 Visit https://www.viggen.training ...Viggen... what more can you ask for? my computer: AMD Ryzen 5600G 4.4 GHz | NVIDIA RTX 3080 10GB | 32 GB 3.2 GHz DDR4 DUAL | SSD 980 256 GB SYS + SSD 2TB DCS | TM Warthog Stick + Throttle + TRP | Rift CV1
VFA41_Lion Posted April 23, 2021 Posted April 23, 2021 gonna bump this. Definitely need to be able to tell AI units when to turn on and off their external lights
mahuja Posted August 14, 2021 Posted August 14, 2021 The default seems to have changed from always-christmastree to christmastree only over friendly airfields. A big improvement for sure... but... I have a need to have a few specific units be always-christmastree for a few mission ideas.
Nealius Posted September 1, 2021 Posted September 1, 2021 They still use formation lights in broad daylight, sadly.

Grievo Posted February 6, 2022 Posted February 6, 2022 Bump. This is a massive immersion killer for Helicopter operations. If I want troop transports to land and drop troops, not only do they land incredibly slowly, but they turn all the bloody lights on to do it! I'd be happy with a "Force lights off" option in the waypoint options, or even just default the lights to off for any non-airfield approaches. i7-9700F, 32Gb RAM, RTX 2080 Super, HP Reverb G2.
