GGTharos Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 Currently there are no officialy announced plans for such a thing, I would imagine they at least have Su-25A on their mind ... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
RedTiger Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 If ED does an Su-25, I would think its assured to have a clickable cockpit. If you mean for LOMAC, then no, I don't even think its possible.
ThunderChief Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 Not much to click anyway unless also the systems would be modeled in detail.
GGTharos Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 I guess using that logic you might say there's 'not much to click' in the Ka-50 ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
ThunderChief Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 I guess using that logic you might say there's 'not much to click' in the Ka-50 ;) Yeah exactly! :D I mean the current model of the Su-25 and Su-25T can be very well controlled via keyboard / HOTAS. Only the much more detailed model of the Ka-50 will force you to use the clickable cockpit. So as long as the Su-25 model stays the same I think it is rather an advantage than a disadvantage if you don't have to click any buttons in a combat sim.
nemises Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 ^^ disagreed :) Fully clickable, or not at all is my new motto ;)
GGTharos Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 I think you missed the premise behind flyable aircraft in DCS ;) So as long as the Su-25 model stays the same I think it is rather an advantage than a disadvantage if you don't have to click any buttons in a combat sim. BBQ Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 This is one of the stated goals of the DCS series--"systems modeled in detail" Not much to click anyway unless also the systems would be modeled in detail.
Yellonet Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 Uhmmm... I'm thinking that Thunderchief is saying that there's no point in making clickable cockpit for these aircraft because they're not on the same level as the Ka-50, not that more details are bad or that we'll see new flyables at lower realism. Just that unless the systems in the flyables are up to the same standards as for the Ka-50, clickable pit is not needed. i7-2600k@4GHz, 8GB, R9 280X 3GB, SSD, HOTAS WH, Pro Flight Combat Pedals, TIR5
ThunderChief Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 Sorry I misunderstood the original question then! I thought the existing Su-25 should get a clickable cockpit (like upgrading LO:FC). If the Su-25 would be modelled as a DCS aircraft there has to be a clickable cockpit
Crow_Bar Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 Its absolutely fantastic to think in time there may be a 25 running in BS( a fully clickable model at that).:)
GGTharos Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 Not in BS. Maybe at some point in DCS. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
Crow_Bar Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 Not in BS. Maybe at some point in DCS. Ah Ok, :( but still nice to know the 25 may not be totaly gone.:)
Boberro Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 What for clickable cocpit with avionics which are limited to few keys in LO:huh: ;] Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D ಠ_ಠ ツ
stealthtemplates Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 Wont be for at least a few years, DCS is currently working on the A-10 as the next aircraft
GGTharos Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 I'm fairly certain that the A-10 will be next in line. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
VMFA117_Poko Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 I'm fairly certain that the A-10 will be next in line.Already can't wait. Good news (old news actually) for aircraft guys but a bit worse for multiplayer. Pretty obvious decision since ED built A-10 sim already for USAF. Question: will A-10 module come with A-10A and A-10C in one package or is it going to be released separately?

Aye - Myself, Cannot wait :) One would sincerely hope that the Modules - A10 for one but equally applying to all insofar as it is relevant - will be structured as such as to allow the Flyable to be selected on two opposing coalitions. I'd happily suspend belief in order to get the choice as above. Would certainly solve a lot of Multiplayer issues........if only to curtail Mass Fratricide in 30mm Duelling through the streets of Krasnodar :D Any clarity from those in the know to the above supposition? Canada Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 I'm fairly certain that the A-10 will be next in line. But since the main components of the DCS engine are already pretty much finished (I presume ?), is it safe to say that the Apache module will be released within a shorter period of time than the A-10 ? Helicopters fly.
GGTharos Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 I think the A-10 is much more 'done' than the Apache, and so it will be next. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
ED Team Wags Posted August 4, 2008 ED Team Posted August 4, 2008 I think the A-10 is much more 'done' than the Apache, and so it will be next. Correct Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/user/wagmatt Twitch: wagmatt System: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=3729544#post3729544
stealthtemplates Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 I wonder how much faster the A-10 release will be since DCS have got the engine finished, hopefully its not something we need to wait 3 more years for ;)
