RyanJMcGowan Posted February 25, 2021 Posted February 25, 2021 See attached image with a stack trace that appeared on a popup modal. This popup occurred only once. Machine specs: Version 2.5.6. Windows 10 64-bit i7 -8700 32 GB Ram Dual Displays 1920x1080 NVIDIA GTX 1050 Ti Steps to error: Opened DCS > Training > Anti-Radar Missiles, RWR and Countermeasures. During opening, Windows informed that the application is not responding. I selected Wait for DCS. All training missions and instant actions seem to be an issue. This behavior is consistent and stops at precisely the same point (caucasusafbbuildings_new.ref) during loading. A full repair was completed to no effect. Other information: I noticed in the dxdiag file this line: Problem signature: P1: s3browser-con.exe I don't know if DCS uses s3browser to send data to a bucket, or if it's my installation because I use it as well. If DCS uses it, I wonder if there exists a key configuration conflict. A crash report was also sent today at 1:54 pm PST for this issue. Hash: 08ab5ce768116bcfea945898a49cbad5 Also, DCS often hangs on the startup screen on both of my machines. Possibly related.
Lange_666 Posted February 25, 2021 Posted February 25, 2021 Lots of shader errors these last few days (so you're not alone). Did you update to the latest "preview" of Windows 10? Did you try to remove the fxo and metashaders2 directory's in your Saved Games\DCS folder and let them rebuild? Ohioflyer15 Posted February 25, 2021 Posted February 25, 2021 Lange, I have the same issue and I did update to the latest preview... I started another thread possibly pointing the finger at that with logs etc
Flappie Posted February 25, 2021 Posted February 25, 2021 Hi @RyanJMcGowan. Please attach the most recent ZIP file you can find in "C:\Users\username\Saved Games\DCS...\Logs". ---
RyanJMcGowan Posted February 25, 2021 Author Posted February 25, 2021 (edited) I will update to Windows with all optional updates at the end of the day, try again, and upload a new zip. If that doesn't work, I'll try the Windows Preview edition. Edited February 25, 2021 by RyanJMcGowan

exil Posted February 26, 2021 Posted February 26, 2021 (edited) Same problem here. DCS crashes after a couple of minutes (1-4) ingame. I did a complete fresh install with no luck. Also, my Metashaders in my saved games folder are not building up. It is completly empty! Hope there is some fix for it soon! dcs.log-20210226-200218.zip Edited February 26, 2021 by exil Attached LogFile GeForce RTX 4090 Founders Edition - AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D - 64Gb RAM - Win11 - HP Reverb G1 - Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS (40cm extension) - VKB Sim T-Rudder MKIV Pedals
Flappie Posted February 26, 2021 Posted February 26, 2021 (edited) Hi @exil. Your crash symptom ("DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED") is very different from the one this thread is about . Please read this post and try the different solutions. If you keep having the same kind of crash after this, please create a new thread. By the way, metashaders2 folder is often empty when you're not playing. This is perfectly normal (my folder is currently empty as well). Edited February 26, 2021 by Flappie ---

I will check if my GPU is sitting in the slot correctly. Didn't want to hijack this topic. I thought it would be the same problem because of the Metashaders being empty. RyanJMcGowan Posted February 27, 2021 Author Posted February 27, 2021 I ran all optional updates and attempted again. Attached is the latest zip file. dcs.log-20210227-001521.zip
Flappie Posted February 27, 2021 Posted February 27, 2021 Mate, your pagefile size is zero. RyanJMcGowan Posted February 28, 2021 Author Posted February 28, 2021 I ran upgrade and it works now. I thought I had done this already, but that was apparently on my laptop, not the culprit PC. Thank you for looking into it. The issue is resolved.
Flappie Posted February 28, 2021 Posted February 28, 2021 @RyanJMcGowanYou mean you upgraded DCS? ---
RyanJMcGowan Posted February 28, 2021 Author Posted February 28, 2021 @Flappie Correct, or rather I *updated DCS. I was not on the latest release. 1
