GGTharos Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Black Shark focuses mostly on COOP. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
hannibal Posted August 18, 2008 Author Posted August 18, 2008 Black Shark focuses mostly on COOP. ok, thats fine...so what is the most number of players have you seen on a coop mission? yes, i understand that a player is able to control a number of Ai Craft, but my question remains,, what is the most number of human players have you played with in coop or head to head.. find me on steam! username: Hannibal_A101A http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197969447179
Esac_mirmidon Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Read between lines. XD. I think a lot of work have been made in coop stability from ED. I wish the number of multiplayers with good pings-frames-fun could increase compared to FC. " You must think in russian.." VMFA117_Poko Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 Does FPS much drop according to rising number of players joining a server?
Duke49th Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 I think this is an important question. How much players can play in a coop mission/campaign? It should at least up to 30 players. I think 30 is a realistic number. We are sometimes flying Gorilla flights and are limited by the Falcon4AF MP code to maximum of 24+Host. We need sometimes more than 28 seats...but like I said, there can only be 24+host. So the code should be able to handle at minimum 30 Player on a dedicated Server. Please dear Beta-testers or Wags....tell us what you think/know(or better what you have tested):) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 49th Black Diamonds - DCS & Falcon BMS Online Squad
nemises Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 (edited) 30?...why on earth would you be flying a co-op mission with 30 KA50's in the mission??? This isnt a full theatre dynamic campain setting; you're looking at missions / campains hand designed by people, and I would be VERY suprised to see anything beyond 8 ? the Engine should be cabable of having as many as you like (like LOMAC currently is), with bandwidth from the server and the mission design beeing the limiting factors, but I cannot see why you would want as much as 30? Id've though 2 / 4 / 8 would be the most pupular for Vs AI co-ops. I think human Force on Force in KA50's is a bit silly..these are not fighters.. Just my opinon of course, feel free to persuade me otherwise! Edited August 20, 2008 by nemises
Ulrich Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 DCS: Black Shark testing is in progress now, so it's early to talk about number of players handled in MP game. 1
Duke49th Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 (edited) 30?...why on earth would you be flying a co-op mission with 30 KA50's in the mission??? Mmmhh..30 KA50's are maybe too much. But with mixed Aircraft types(later with community Addons and official Modules) it is realistic. DCS: Black Shark testing is in progress now, so it's early to talk about number of players handled in MP game. Thx for answer, even if it does not really the answers the question:P Edited August 20, 2008 by Duke49th [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 49th Black Diamonds - DCS & Falcon BMS Online Squad
zakobi Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 30?...why on earth would you be flying a co-op mission with 30 KA50's in the mission??? Are you stupid??? ;) (just kidding) Of course for "Capture the flag"!!! (WTF???)
CAT_101st Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 the last I herd is that, There are not going to be severs hosting the games. So that means that a small group with the guy that has the best PC and connection will host a session mission. I would think along the lines of max 8 players. That will acomadate 4 AH-64s with a pilot and CP. What more can you ask for. I dont think that dcs is desining this game for the use that you want mabe go back to BF2 and enjoy. :D Home built PC Win 10 Pro 64bit, MB ASUS Z170 WS, 6700K, EVGA 1080Ti Hybrid, 32GB DDR4 3200, Thermaltake 120x360 RAD, Custom built A-10C sim pit, TM WARTHOG HOTAS, Cougar MFD's, 3D printed UFC and Saitek rudders. Maulkin Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 I think I read in a readme/Faq somewhere that it will not ship with a dedicated server but that it would be planned in a seperate download later on. --Maulkin Windows 10 64-bit - AMD Ryzen 9 5900X @ 3.7 GHz - 32 GB DDR4 3600MHz RAM - EVGA FTW3 RTX 3080 - Asus Crosshair VIII Hero motherboard - Samsung EVO Pro 1 TB SSD - TrackIR 4 Pro - Thrustmaster Warthog - Saitek rudder pedals - Lilliput UM-80/C with TM Cougars

Then you have a dedicated Server with 100Mbit up/down. (Price starts from 27,99€...not too much!) Where is the Problem? Our Falcon Squad have 66 acitve Pilots today. And we sometimes flew with the Freebirds...another 15-20 Pilots. You now understand why it can be relevant to have the option to host up to 30 player and more? :smilewink: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 49th Black Diamonds - DCS & Falcon BMS Online Squad

nemises Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 hmm..well, I still doubt there will be a hard limit in the engine itself. Note many of the FC servers on hyperlobby have player limits of 99 .. Since BS will essentially be the same engine as FC (TFCSE), I'd say it is safe to assume that the same limit (or lack of) will apply? ...but, will anyone actually be building missions for 30 people?... It's not like in FC where you can just spawn in a fighter and play airquake ... these are low and slow helicopters... Still, I'd say, if you want to do a big 30 man screenshot / display flight, you'll probably be fine, as long as you can supply the bandwidth required (128k X 30 up and down). All this is based of TFCSE as per lomac:fc of course, for all I know ED might implement a hard limit on multiplayer connections in TFCSE for BS (heh..sorry was trying to see how many acronyms i could fiit in)
