Hi there,

@BIGNEWY

I don't know if this question was asked before, I didn't find any topic about in the search option.

I pre-ordered the Mi-24P Hind, but I forget a small detail. I don't speak russian.

So, will english cockpit textures be available on early access?

In the Mi-8MTV2 I needed to wait and use mods to change the cockpit to english.

Best regards.

What's wrong in learning a few (well slightly more than few) labels in Russian though?

Adds a bit more authenticity that way, does it not?

Well, the labels in the cockpit get translated to the language of whichever country the helicopters are exported to, so English can very much be authentic too

Something new for me. Interesting, do you by any chance, know which English speaking country Mi-24P was exported to?

Nigeria and Zimbabwe, as an example.

There's a couple in the States as well.

Not sure if they have the P, D, V or any other varaint, all I'm saying is that translating the labels to your local language is done regularly.

Oh ok, I thought P was exported to an English speaking country and I missed that somehow.

I am not against EN labels. I will use them if learning RU cockpit proves impossible;)

I mean, lots of the systems share a lot in common with the Mi-8, so if you can manage that with the RU cockpit, you should be good for the Mi-24P.

Modules I own: F-14A/B, F-4E, Mi-24P, AJS 37, AV-8B N/A, F-5E-3, MiG-21bis, F-16CM, F/A-18C, Supercarrier, Mi-8MTV2, UH-1H, Mirage 2000C, FC3, MiG-15bis, Ka-50, A-10C (+ A-10C II), P-47D, P-51D, C-101, Yak-52, WWII Assets, CA, NS430, Hawk.

Terrains I own: South Atlantic, Syria, The Channel, SoH/PG, Marianas.

System:

GIGABYTE B650 AORUS ELITE AX, AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Corsair Vengeance DDR5-5200 32 GB, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070S FE, Western Digital Black SN850X 1 TB (DCS dedicated) & 2 TB NVMe SSDs, Corsair RM850X 850 W, NZXT H7 Flow, MSI G274CV.

I tried in the past, but is very different language for me to understand.

I have the Ka-50 and Mi-8MTV2, I can only operate in english.

Russian for me is like japanese, chinese, etc. It has another alphabet. I don't have a clue what that symbols means.

You can learn the alphabet in one day, it's understanding the words that sill be the problem, especially if you're not a slavic speaker already.

I love the Cyrillic aesthetic, I can read it (kinda slowly), and I'm a slav, but I still only understand around half of what is written.

I'll likely stick to English labels.

I read the wiki about the cyrillic alphabet and still too complex to me. I can listen, speak, read a write portuguese, english, spanish, italian and german, but russian, chinese, japanese and others that have differents alphabets, I don't understand nothing. Sorry for my limitation.

Best regards.

Well, for the Mi24 is it not as common as you might think. I was sitting in the cockpit of Mi35 which is export model of Mi24V. And it was quite young one. Our Czech air force received this one aroud 2005. Whole cockpit was in Russian so i asked the pilot "Do you really need to know Russian language?" And he replies to me " Yes, even flight and maintenance manuals are in Russian". And it will be probably same for Polish air force nad Hungary air force, they even have P models, our Czech army has only V models.
For other countries it might be different story 🙂

I know that a lot of the Polish Mi-24s were modernised, they got rid of the green colour and translated all the labels to Polish.
I was in an old Mi-8 as well, all in Polish (obviously a different helo), it would be odd if they only translated a few of them, coincidentally all the ones I've seen from up close lol

Might be wrong though, I can obviously only speak for the ones I've seen myself.

Yeah i can also only speaks about what i have seen. Cockpit in that particilar Mi35 was in black color. I also got chance to sit in heavily modernised Mi 171sh and it was also translated to English. Probably translation of labels is not top priority for armies 🙂

Its fine, we are getting both day one so will please all buyers I think.

I saw a cockpit of Polish Army Mi-24 up close and personal and not every label was translated it was a mix of PL and RU labels.

Will try to dig out a photo of it, should be somewhere in my archive.

An English cockpit is a big selling point for me. I'm still on the fence, but this pushes it closer to a purchase.

Some of the planes, but all of the maps!
