Advice on new screen

Hi looking for advice on buying a new screen. The obvious trade offs between size and coin etc.

 

I’m hoping for at least at 27 inch size.

 

I run a 1660ti with 32gb of ram and a Ryzen 5600.

 

This seems a very complicated area to me.

Well, here´s my 2 cents...

Since I bought my first 144 Hz screen, I can´t go back to 60 Hz, but thankfully, 144+ Hz is more and more becoming standard and therefore cheaper.

With 27" or more, I would also suggest at least 1440 p resolution. With a GTX1080Ti myself, I chose a 1440p 27" monitor as I thought 4K would be a bit too much to handle smoothly in most games. (not sure how the 1660Ti compares to that). But 1440p for me is the sweetspot between performance and quality.

But with 27" or more I would not take a 1080p resolution.

 

Also, personally, for me G-Sync was a real gamechanger, but I can´t comment how it compares to Free-Sync or other technologies. And G-Sync alone will add 100 bucks to the price ...

 

Oh, and stay away from TN Panels, if anyone still dares to sell these !

Went from a 24" (1920x1200) to a 27" (2560x1440) but i should have gone for a "32 (2560x1440). The decrease in pixil size makes everything a bit to small on the 27".

I just wonder how people manage to have a 4K 27". If you increase the pixilsize to make everything readable, why do you need 4K for then?

The YT channel Hardware Unboxed has several videos on monitor recommendations, for every price range.

It might help making up your mind.

It's called Scaling. And it works awesome.
