GTengineer Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 hey guys I am having a problem with this mod after I installed it I cannot use any season other than summer. It either crashes on missions with Autumn, Winter, or it will revert back to Summer if I choose Autumn or Winter in mission editor. Any ideas? Here are my current mods... Ironhand Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 I use these parameters and it looks great: LandLodDistances { LandDay { L01 = 30000; L12 = 50000; } LandNight { L01 = 30000; L12 = 50000; (if thats what you mean) Vekkinho, I believe the SIM-MOD team's recommended L12 setting is 80000 to get rid of that distance line. HitchHikingFlatlander Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 (edited) Great mod! Looks great I think..... I'm just not sure if it got installed right (I think it did) in MODMAN I dont get the green box thats associated with installed mods I get a yellow box instead. Is that right I'm still very new to MODMAN and mods in general. I noticed a note that when you get that yellow box it could mean its just sharing files? EDIT: NVM, hooked on phonics now............. From Ruggbut: Q Why does it show a yellow box when I install with ModMan? A Yellow boxes mean that there are shared files in use. It's normal, don't worry. The mod is installed. Ironhand Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 So is Ironhand. Honorary, perhaps, but not in actuality. Mustang, I was given access to all the SIM-MOD forums when the textures were being developed and tested. Several members were complaining about an obvious texture line showing from high altitude. After a good deal of testing, L12=80000 was found to be the graphics.cfg alteration that gave the best results. It was recommended that that figure be used, if your system could handle it. The noise values were also to be changed from the default. Ironhand Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 ...noise values. what values would you recommend? cheers mate . In GRAPHICS.CFG, alter the bold type values in the "OldLandNoise" section: OldLandNoise { perSquare = 4; perSquare2 = 150; front = 1000; back = 10000; top = 2500; map_high = 20000; bottom = 2000; noisemax = 0.8; noisemin = 0.6; } Give that a try and see how it looks to your eye.
