I can reproduce this at will. Mostly when the spacing between the bombs is small.

 

Reproducing:

- Take a F16 with 12 MK-82 Snakeeyes (have the same issue with the F-5)

- Set the RIPPLE to 12 (to release all the bombs)

- Set spacing to 20 feet.

- Fly level and drop the bomb at more than 400 knots.

 

90% of the time, you will go BOOM

 

See the track attached. Clearly the bombs collide mid air, but I am convince that the US airforce would not let the aircraft configure the ordinance in a way that would kill the pilot as soon as he "pickle" the bomb.
