JAS 39 Gripen for Lockon

Recommended Posts

Since many times, I often complain some simmers about the absence of this nice little fighter. So, tired of waiting, I decided to begin the modelisation of this plane !

After some unsuccesful tries in mesh editing, I decided to use NURBS surfaces to model general shapes.

And it works nicely :

The great advantage of NURBS is you can finely built shapes and adjust number of faces with one parameter (useful when creating LoDs...).

I don't know if there will be enough polys ! :D It should be kept under 15.000 faces.

ouch

15k faces, seems to be poor

I think 30k faces will be better for the first LOD ;) (between 0 and 30/60 meters)

you will be able to detail gears, pilot, cockpit with a better quality

then, 15k faces will be good for second LOD :)

Dont forget 20 dps sustained/30 dps instantaneous rate, (at least what i read somewhere)

but awful low TWR and crap climb rate. Though sources are rare, and some say it's actually

much much worse :P

Also should have significantly smaller visual and RCS than mig29.

(engine hidden for reduced RCS, effectively 1/10 of older f-16 RCS)

Then you have to decide if you want to model the new AESA variant (not yet in production)

or the classic C model :P

S = SPARSE(m,n) abbreviates SPARSE([],[],[],m,n,0). This generates the ultimate sparse matrix, an m-by-n all zero matrix. - Matlab help on 'sparse'
