I like to download user made missions from User Files (digitalcombatsimulator.com), however I'm struggling with the search feature.

How would I simply search for missions for the F-16 with the Syria map? Is there not a way to sort by map addons?

You're probably best off just filtering by the F-16 and single missions (or multiplayer) and then setting the date from August 2020 (I think that's when Syria map was first available) to today. That seems to cut down the number of missions a lot.

Unfortunately it's still not possible to filter on maps (or multiple modules for all that matter). A big flaw imo, for a sim resting so heavily on user input/missions.

For instance, at the moment it's next to impossible to easily search for a mission in Syria, containing the Supercarrier module and the Tomcat

I asked for better filter options multiple times (both here on the forum as via a support ticket), but I guess only very few people care about this, as my requests got very little interest/replies from the community.

(I know having more filter options would require mission editors/uploaders to fill in all these modules, but imo this could easily be done with something like a checkbox functionality)

I just search for single player missions and scroll down till I find some that I like lol, I dont even care about the plane, I just change it in the editor and that´s it.

In complex missions (that usually are more realistic and worked out better) there's a high chance that changing aircraft type breaks the mission.

For instance this will be the case when the mission designer made use of cockpit parameters (like triggers to verify the player tuned in on a correct frequency)

I know, but I never had a problem as long as the aircraft and systems are similar, if a mission works for the viper, it works for the hornet (95% chance). It´s not like I use the Hornet on a Su-25 mission 😛

IDK if this helps, but I just use the file explorer in C:/Users/my name/Saved Games/DCS.Open Beta/Missions and

I organize them according to the map. When Downloading, I just direct the DL to the appropriate folder.

Apologies,

I didn't understand the OP's topic and I agree; the search function for user mods sucks.

I use the Search function, instead of the filters .. it works if the mission maker has set the Tags properly:
