S. Low Posted July 3, 2021 Posted July 3, 2021 I don't see this in known issues or posted yet. I've had this happen at least 4 times doing multicrew, once right after takeoff, and 3 times in flight at various flight times. The tailboom just pops off and we crash. I think two of the times my gunner was also disconnected from the server. I have a track file but it's too big I guess.
S. Low Posted July 22, 2021 Author Posted July 22, 2021 Bump. Tested earlier in multicrew after we updated with new patch. Still had one tailboom separation due to desync in an hour of gameplay. Just fyi.
QuiGon Posted July 22, 2021 Posted July 22, 2021 (edited) Hmm, I might have had this issue twice, although I'm not sure, as it was on a server with external cameras disabled, so all I noticed from inside the cockpit was sudden loss of control and huge flames comming from the tail of the Hind. So far I thought it might have just been a result from overstressing the engines, but the results seemed a bit too extreme for such an issue, so it's probably the tailboom that seperated. The first time it happened to me I was the pilot and it happened just ~30 seconds after take off. The second time I was the gunner and it happened about 2 minutes after take off. Shadow KT Posted July 22, 2021 Posted July 22, 2021 By the way, when that happens, is it normal for the gearbox to seize after what seems a constant amount of time ? I would try to auto rotate, drop the collective, start auto rotating and all of a sudden, the gearbox just seizes. and the rotor stops dead. Not really a moment in which I've looked at the RPM gauge, but could it be overspeeding the rotor ? Last time it happened, I did try to give it just a tiny amount of collective, as I am gliding down, to slow it down, but it felt all the same. Rotor stops moving after what seems to be a constant amount of seconds. 'Shadow' Everybody gotta be offended and take it personally now-a-days
S. Low Posted July 22, 2021 Author Posted July 22, 2021 I think the inability to autorotate is a damage model WIP issue and is, I assume, a separate issue. 1

Medley Posted July 27, 2021 Posted July 27, 2021 Same issue in multicrew, after short flight time, tailboom break and we crash. On different server, same issue. We have also desync with rotor blade speed, and weapons delivery does not work when we have this issue. Only in multicrew.
Convoy Posted November 18, 2024 Posted November 18, 2024 Just happened to me in the Apache, multicrew, flying along, tail boom snapped.
