Skkuda Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 I want to open this thread to get help in suggestions to help wags for make the demo quite simple and enjoyable. I was thinking in the best way they can give us the demo kepping it simple it could be an empty bird (zero weapons) In That way we are force just to fool arond in a little part of the mission editor I think this is simple for them and benefit for us. I just want to learn in the best way how to turn on this machine how to take off and land. It gonna get us all ready to make a better handle the full game and quite ready for combat. They could situate us in a parking area of an airbase with the ability to set night or day (no more) so we can use NVG. A little bit of trees so we can learn maneuvers to hide behind them I think this could be simple and fully enjoyable What do you think? To wags...if you feel this post is incorrect i´m ok Scuda [sIGPIC]http://forums.eagle.ru/signaturepics/sigpic56197_1.gif[/sIGPIC] AMD Phenom IIx4 955 Black Edition@3.2Ghz Asus M4A785TD-M EVO 6Ghz DDR3 1033 NVidia Geforce GTX 570 hd1280 Mb GDDR5
Airway Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 Well, Scuda, I think they were already working on a demo version. The release of the demo is now priority #1 and dragged to a release somewhen earlier as planned before.
nscode Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 I think one feature demo should have is..... SF. Let people see for free that it doesn't bite :) This way, you could also maybe time-limit the demo with a bit more functions until the release than you would otherwise feel comfortable. Eg, you could let us have full fuel and wizz around more, but once the game is released, the demo reverts to letting you have just a few minutes of fuel. Btw, @Scuda, you can't hide behind trees in the current BS engine, the AI will still see you... search the forum for details. Never forget that World War III was not Cold for most of us.
to be Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 Since the game is done, making the demo itself should be pretty easy. The priority of the demo should be making sure it is 99.99999999% crack-proof, has the most security possible (while still allowing the game to be played of course) and showcases what they think are the most important features of their sim.

Ratel Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 Well the GUI manual was supposed to be round about now.
Erdem Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 I'd just drop in a 15 minute hardcoded time limit in it with two missions. One to let them try to start-up the heli in a pad, and the other with an airstart for some quick action. Otherwise I'm sure people will find a way to abuse it, as full version BS is out. (*remembers FC demo and how people integrated it to vanilla LO*)

I fully agree with you:thumbup: still here...
Ramstein Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 best flight sim demo was IL-2, way back when.. I could see a great demo with Black Shark.. :music_whistling: ASUS Strix Z790-H, i9-13900, WartHog HOTAS and MFG Crosswind G.Skill 64 GB Ram, 2TB SSD EVGA Nvidia RTX 2080-TI (trying to hang on for a bit longer) 55" Sony OLED TV, Oculus VR
CAT_101st Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 This will be my second post on this matter. Ok lits see demo, demo what shuld be in it. lets see take out the ME. A small flight area or limited flight time (not in favor), mabe limited fule:huh:. This would allow for cold start(ramp). Althoe I don't think this is needed if you limit the play area. Make sure there enough buildings/ towm to fly around and land on:D. Have base weapons rockets and vickers, and some soft targets to destroy near the takeoff point or way point to get to them. No wingman to controle. No relaod/refule system. A set of way points to fallow or mess with. No replay system (I will get flack for this:tomato:). Just have a free flight mode so we can just jump in and go. Have all the diffrent setings for realism/modes. Theas things shuld keep the file size down and be enough to keep us true simers happy till the releas. I hope this helps Home built PC Win 10 Pro 64bit, MB ASUS Z170 WS, 6700K, EVGA 1080Ti Hybrid, 32GB DDR4 3200, Thermaltake 120x360 RAD, Custom built A-10C sim pit, TM WARTHOG HOTAS, Cougar MFD's, 3D printed UFC and Saitek rudders. What do you mean crack-proof? The russian version is already cracked and on torrent! Sad but true. If I was ED I would code each release with a special-number and key that one copy to the individual name, address,IP and phone number. Then if that copoy wound up pirated I would take them to court in their country and nail them to the wall! Ask Jesus for Forgiveness before you takeoff :pilotfly:! joey45 Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 Don't think a time limit would be wise, by the time you figure stuf out you need to restart the demo... its a study sim remember. 1] no refuel/rearm system 2] Limited map 3] cold start optional 4] rockets and AT's 5] some static targets along some waypoints. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. That´s true...besides what is the sense in limiting the time if you can restart the demo and start again. so limited flight time=useless Like Joey said, I agree with Limited map cold start optional (From one of those new shinny and beatiful bases please) (by the way does those new lights in bases iluminate ground at night?) but having some guns....we´re gonna start shooting before trying to fly the machine....Don´t know..... Remember again please just the capacity to switch before day or night so we can use NVG system , please. leafer Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 No time limit please. That is one guarantee way to annoy a poor sap in some 3rd world country who spent 6 hours downing the demo. Don't do that to me -- oops, I mean the poor sap not me. 1 ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
Ratel Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 I would be perfectly happy with missions similar to the ones in Sim HQ review 2 and 3, then we can try startup, navigation and combat along with crashing:D. But in the interests of ED winning over casual people, the 'Game' mode should be included.
