Hi guys, quick question. When flying in the f16, I have the right mfd showing the HSD which shows waypoints, aircraft and yellow circles where there are enemy SAM sites.

Now when I fly in the 4YA server...and an enemy base gets captured or a SAM gets destroyed by a team mate...is there a way to refresh that HSD so the now captured base or destroyed SAM doesn't show up as a yellow circle any more?

The problem I'm having is that if im flying towards a yellow circle to launch some HARMS from 25 miles away and I fire them...sometimes that base is captured by a team mate and I end up destroying a friendly SAM thinking it was an enemy SAM. I know I can check the f10 map but I don't want to do that. Is there a way so that the yellow circle disappears from the HSD once it is captured/destroyed?

At the moment it only updates when you get into a new aircraft or rejoin the server.

Thanks in advance.

I wonder how does the f-16 know that there are enemy SAMs and what kind of SAMs they are, some say that it is data link, but since I am the only Blue unit I don't understand how that works.

It doesn’t, the way it currently works is basically hacking it so all the sams that aren’t set to hidden are “loaded into the dtc when you spawn as threats” and that’s how they appear on the HSD

Current known SAM locations are pre set on your HSD, you can discover additional SAM sites if they were hidden previously with HTS or they may surprise you.

@leoliao It's just "we know that there likely is a SAM site there  so we have marked it for you on the map" which just so happens to be perfectly accurate in the game.

There is no datalink involved and it's static because it's just a bunch of points in the nav system that were loaded on DTC

In fact, they should essentially be special threat steerpoints, that's what they are internally in the real jet. Hopefully when we get the DTC, this functionality will come with it.

I works like when you spawn in and the SAM site is not hidden for you by the mission maker or by mission setup, it will show on the HSD. Create a simple single player mission. Put a player F16 and a SAM site only on the map. The sam site will show in the jet. So when you spawn in the jet the thread ring is set for you.

The threat steerpoint we currently dont have is a separate thing.

But whats creating the thread symbols on the HSD for you at the moment is just DCS magic at the moment.
