Double Dutch Posted August 15, 2021 Posted August 15, 2021 Hi, I have set de radar increase (right DDI-PB11) and radar decrease (right DDI - PB12) to a 5 way button joystick. The buttons work, they are linked to PB11 and 12, but when I use the button, the range doesn't change. Am I missing something here? ----- Don't practise till you got it right. dawgie79 Posted August 15, 2021 Posted August 15, 2021 Wild guess: maybe set the radar as SOI first? I haven't mapped those buttons so don't know if this is the solution. I just use the mouse.
rob10 Posted August 15, 2021 Posted August 15, 2021 Because you're pressing the OSB directly, the radar doesn't need to be SOI for it to work (although the radar page obviously has to be up on the RDDI). I have it working on my throttle that way. For starters, make sure the visual of the OSB in on-screen is depressing when you press the joystick button. If it is, what joy/software are you using? Too quick a press sometimes doesn't register as a press even though it may visually show up as pressing on-screen (although this is more an issue with the UFC buttons). If you're using something software wise to control the joystick check if you can change the time it's held down. It definitely can be done. As an unrelated thought, make sure you are in a radar mode that the range can be changed in -- there are some that you can't. Try a basic RWS with no target selected and see if it works there. 1
Hulkbust44 Posted August 15, 2021 Posted August 15, 2021 To add on, you can also change the range by TDC depressing over the range scale arrows, as well as bumping the cursor out then back into the tactical area (main "box" of the display")within one second. Top increases scale, bottom decreases.Mobius708 1

Tholozor Posted August 16, 2021 Posted August 16, 2021 To add to that, you can scale the scan volume azimuth using the same method. Bump left to reduce the volume azimuth, bump right to increase, or cursor select the azimuth setting. 2 1 REAPER 51 | Tholozor VFA-136 (c.2007): https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3305981/ Arleigh Burke Destroyer Pack (2020): https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3313752/

Mobius708 As I tried this morning, I also noticed that most menu items in Radar Attack Display are "clickable" by the TDC, such as change scan azimuth, vertical bar, TWS/RWS, auto/man etc, this is quite handy!
