tusler Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 Hi ED, My PMDG 747 FMC was so accurately programmed that I bought and use the real FMC manual. Is there any chance you could either sell or point us toward where to buy the pilots manual for the Black Shark, the one with all the graphs and placards and emergency procedures. I'm guessing you are not putting all that into the simulation manual. If you are ... well I'll wait and buy that instead! Ask Jesus for Forgiveness before you takeoff :pilotfly:! ryuzu Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 No good asking the Russians - you need an English language version! Best to write to the relevant Armed Force of an English speaking country that is using the KA-50... :music_whistling: r.
Weta43 Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 The Ka-50 is only in service with the Russians.... Cheers.
Mugatu Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 How many are actually in service with the Russians, I thought I read only a couple and the others have been cancelled in favour of the KA-52. http://www.defenseindustrydaily.com/?s=ka-50 <- this still accurate?
SunDown Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 here is what sucks....I'm a DCS fan. I mean I can't wait to get BS, and I was actually sad to hear that KA-50s wouldn't be funded for production in Russia's armed forces. Then I wake up... I'm also in the US Army. And the bottom line is that one day I might be on the business end of one of these multi million dollar can openers! C Co 6-6 CAV USLANTCOM
Mugatu Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 Lucky you have a guy in the back seat with a 30mm strapped to his head :)
SunDown Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 I'm actually a M2 Bradley gunner. You know, the things the KA-50 are blowing up in pretty much any video that gets put out...lol. At first we (bradley crews) had nightmares about Mi-24s busting over the treeline, now its KA-50s or Mi-28Ns.... C Co 6-6 CAV USLANTCOM
Mugatu Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 lol then good luck, hope you have a data link :)
tusler Posted November 15, 2008 Author Posted November 15, 2008 It has been my experience that when there is money to be made someone will find a way. I can only hope one of the companies in the know might start selling a revised pilot manual. I picked up a brand new x52 controller for $52 off ebay today :joystick: I already have the Saitek rudder pedals so... now I just need to learn to fly! EvilBivol-1 Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 There are about a dozen Ka-50s in service. There are about as many in "conservation" from the original Soviet production batch in the factory. These unfinished airframes will now be finished as Ka-52s. What will happen with the in-service Ka-50s is unknown, but probably nothing and they'll just "soldier on" alongside the Ka-52s. It's also unclear if any new-built airframes will be made, though probably also not. - EB [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Nothing is easy. Everything takes much longer. The Parable of Jane's A-10 Forum Rules
JG-1_Vogel Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 Only a dozen? Crikey, that isn't many! Barely a squadron really when you think about it... I'm guessing they've invested in other models in higher numbers? 12 gunships wouldn't make a lot of difference in a conflict, especially with good air defenses.

Boberro Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 Dozen? Aren't full equipment of Ka-50, 2 squadrons of Ka-50 in Russia? Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D ಠ_ಠ ツ
Vekkinho Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 So ED's next move is a DCS:Ka-52 module, right?! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
DarkWanderer Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 So ED's next move is a DCS:Ka-52 module, right?! Yeah, the production of 50's havу already been funded... You want the best? Here i am...
IvanK Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 A two seater with cooperative ON line play via humans to crew the KA52 would be nice.
