WolfcatVader Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 Reverb G2 is working great for me on 11. Did all the usual VR windows settings tweaks and it is plenty smooth with a 3090 and 12900k. MB had some RAM issues at first that caused crashing but that was because apparently z690 boards don't like more than 2 sticks of RAM apparently right now. Once I figured that out its been smoothing sailing. i9-12900K - EVGA 3090 FTW - 64GB DDR5 5600 - HP Reverb G2
darkman222 Posted February 15, 2022 Posted February 15, 2022 I dont want to hijack that thread, so I created a separate one. Just testing W10 vs W11 with my current hardware. 2
Dex0 Posted February 18, 2022 Posted February 18, 2022 Joining this thread in desperation. I have a Vive Pro 1. After Win11 install, I got stuttering, but then disabled HAGS and the stuttering stopped, but the clouds remain awful. Very jagged as you can see on the image. I tried all the resolutions and none worked. Anyone else with this problem who could give me a clue? This didn't happen on Win10, and I had them on high setting. My Rig: i7-9700 CPU @ 3.00GHz/ RAM 32.0 GB/ running DCS from external SSD HTC Vive Pro/ Intel i7-9700 CPU @ 3GHz/ 32GB RAM/ Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080/

speed-of-heat Posted February 18, 2022 Posted February 18, 2022 yep some cloud types are better than others, denser clouds seem to look better, ULTRA looks the best , but it can literally strip 1/3rd of your available frame time ... does anyone know where the cloud textures are? maybe something can be modded ? I will try DCS VR again on W10 in a few hours and let you know, hopefully it was because of HAGS and lets me update to W11 again. @speed-of-heatwhat usage % do you observe in your 12700KF when using VR? I used FPSVR and the frametime for the CPU was really high, mid to top 20s even in simple Free Flight missions. This was on W11 and didn't check about HAGS so no idea if that was on. Turning off hyper threading in bios was the solution for me. -> difference like night and day Also turned off Intel Adaptive Boost Technology in bios.
